Well, it's been called. I'm going to be rather hugely busy from now on, so I won't be around SF much. I'll try and drop in from time to time. See you all in 33 days.

Predictable date. He may as well have called it months ago since everyone knew it would be May 5th anyway.

Good luck (not that you'll need it!)

I've been racking my brains why I know your name and checking your profile I've just seen the Acorn references - the BBC Mailing List!

I know what you mean... however parliament must be dissolved as soon as possible after it is announced.

From the Beeb's site :

"Tuesday: Prime minister asks Queen to dissolve Parliament and announces a 5 May poll

Wednesday: Last prime minister's questions

Friday: Likely last day when Parliament sits

Saturday: Campaigning suspended for royal wedding

Monday: Parliament formally dissolved"

seems there's an election looming on May 5th - seems its down to the Pope v Prince Charles and people are going to be allowed to vote for who goes and who stays - a bit like Big Brother or so it seems from the TV - has nothing else happened?

I think that's already started Joe. Check this (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=34934&highlight=jeopardy) out. :suspect:

Isn't that part of the Serious and Organised Crime Bill ? Looks like the govt. will have to drop the 'incitment to racial hatred' clause to get that bill through.
