View Full Version : Hollow meadows boarding
I am looking for a boarding kennel for my lovely staffy for a few days in Oct [when I get married]We then are going on honeymoon/holiday for two weeks at christmas so I though it would be better to see how he goes in Oct.I am dreading leaving him as he is my baby any advice please and any info on hollow meadows or any good kennels dont care how much it costs as long as they are suitable.
holidayhutch 24-05-2008, 14:12 I've not heard of Hollow Meadows I'm afraid, but there is a lovely lady in Dinnington called Kate who boards dogs in her own home. Several of our clients with small pets, use her for their dogs and have always been highly satisfied. They live in her house as part of the family and are spoilt rotten:)
sharonxxxx 24-05-2008, 17:11 is that the one near anston ?? or aston i forget

helenasq 24-05-2008, 17:13 Please enquire at Mutlins, they have a licence to take up to 6 boarding dogs and are extremely friendly. It is a family run buisness and somebody is always on site. Your dogs stay in the families' home and the security is very tight, full fencing all the way round, intecom- gates and they have a field and large garden for the dogs to play in. I will post a link to their site, they also charge very reasonable prices.

So would boarding in a persons home be a better option?Thanx I will have a look on mutlins site.
SpeedDemon 24-05-2008, 18:03 ah wow that site is great! I've bookmarked that - might well send the hair monster there when we have a weekend away at some point. Not far from me either - always a bonus when he throws up after more than 10 minutes in the car :gag:
helenasq 24-05-2008, 18:19 I think it depends on the personality of your dog really, some do ok in kennels but some pine for days. Ours are terrible in kennels, and 2 of ours are rescue dogs, so I think putting them in kennels would bring back bad memories. At least if they are in someones home they are in a home environment, have company for most of the time and are given individual attention. I would always board my pets in somebody's home.
There is one in Hollow Meadows called Moscar Kennels. Always seems clean. Don't know any more than that. I live just down the road from them.
Yes It is moscar kennels I mean, also has anyone heard of huthwaite boarding at thurgoland?
dumplindeb 03-06-2008, 08:13 the hollows at woodhouse mill is run by dot and her hubby. absolutely fantastic they
are. i would recommend them, they are also connected to rotherham dog rescue and take in the dogs for them when theyre full.
fee_feepink 06-06-2008, 12:55 Would highly recommend Mocar Kennels, I used to work there over the summer its kept to a strictly high standard, very clean, good routine and exercise too :)

I was informed they are no longer taking dogs in for Rotherham Dog Rescue.
Was also told the lady there wanted our dog put down because nobody wanted him! but RDR refused.
Heard mixed reactions about this place some good some bad, i dont have an opinion really.
I would recommend someone either coming to your house to look after your dog or staying at someones house?
Where abouts are you? im in Wales Bar and would be happy to nip in each day for you if its not too far?
Hi I have a brother that could nip in to see to the dogs but really want someone to have them full time as they need company and I am only away from them for a few hours each day when I go to work.I have the kennels sorted now there are some just up the road from us on Grange lane at Thorpe Hesley so they are going for a trial run in Oct for 2 days when I get married.
