Well, folks:- after musing over an apropriate name for "The Scamp Formerly Known As Tara" (*TM) ....

I considered "Lass", "Tansy", "Floss", (all lovely names, but all of them, somehow, not quite "her")

Seeing as she is a right-royal little monkey, and I'm sure having had her a week, seeing all the tricks and antics she has got up to so far (particularly her habit of chewing absolutely everything in sight)

it is now decided that she is going to be

*fanfare*

"Trixie"

Moonbird, she is very loving, and very sweet. (and everyone who sees her adorable little face falls instantly in love with her!! :) )

All she seems to want to do ( ;) when she's not chewing! ;) ) is cuddle with you.

She seems to be starting to cotton onto the ideas about the "spending a penny" commands that I use for my elderly dog, and the two of them are getting on like a house-on-fire. (I had been so worried about them not getting on).

My neighbour has commented about the amazing change that even she has noticed, in the old lad, since Trixie arrived. He has really perked up, and is chasing around the garden with her, like a thing demented. I'm astounded.

I am certain she's "gonna make a good-'un!", if she makes half as good a dog as my old lad, the crisp-monster, here, (ask rich!) she is going to be a cracker of a lass.

Awwww jack russells are lovely aren't they, my little girl Luna is a treasure, she's 8 months old and thankfully is past the chewing stage, we have now moved on to the pinching and hiding stage, especially socks!

Trixie is a lovely name for a jack russell, very girlie and cute.

PT, Trixie is gorgeous! I love Jack Russells. The farm where I kept my pony (as a teenager) bred them, so there were always JR puppies around the place.

Hope you have many fun-filled and happy years with each other! :D

If she is even half the dog my old lad is, I'm expecting her to be a real smasher, and I'm looking forward to many years of scritches, scruffles and happiness with her as her new, "forever mummy"

hmm I caused some consternation with a neighbour, a few minutes ago.

Seing as the garden is now "girlie"-safe, as well as "Oldie"-safe, I thought, OK, the weather is nice (if a bit breezy) so they can go and have a play, safely and without supervision on the garden, and I can have a bit of time to clear up naughty girl's latest "chewings", and sweep the kitchen floor. They can let off a a bit of steam...

Neighbour is frantic, thinking the dogs are abandoned! *le sigh*

Aww she's in good company, then. Was your Trixie a "chewer" too? My trix is a baddun for that.

Her favourite trick at the moment, is that she likes to pick up my ball of wool, and run off with it. The little Tinker.
