msdiane 23-05-2008, 08:43 PM Has anyone any more information on this event in Hillsborough park, what will be there?. I've looked on the council web site but not much info on what has been confirmed will be there. We want to g somewhere quite local this BH Monday, want to stay fairly local due to differing weather reports.

lisalee 24-05-2008, 10:56 PM what about the carboot do you have to pay £4 to get in the rugbyclub.
yep, the car boot is part of the event, so if you just want to go around that, you still have to pay the entrance fee, £4 :(

Dogs banned???!! **** that im not going if i cant take him along!
beryllium 25-05-2008, 04:20 PM There is a £1 discount on the entrance fee if you have a tram ticket. I stuck my nose through the fence to see what was going on but couldn't be persuaded to let the moths out of my purse on the basis of what I saw. Has anybody been to the event? Is there anything more engaging than car-boot tat, charity tombolas and e-coli burger stands?
joanne5600 25-05-2008, 04:26 PM just been past - doesnt look busy at all - maybe if people could have took their pets in they may have had more people go

Maybe if it was FREE, more people would have gone? :|

Warden 25-05-2008, 06:49 PM Just returned from this "event" and can only echo some of the pessimistic comments on here.
Really poor IMO
What a cheek to charge £4. Free would've been a rip off. Exactly the same as many other lacklustre events I've been to in the city
The thing in Norfolk Park last year and the Abbeyfield Festival both better than this.
Oh not more bleeding falconry....yawn..
I enjoyed the beer tent though and the goats were quite sweet. Oh and I tried juggling.
OK for kids I suppose.
metalman 25-05-2008, 06:52 PM It struck me that paying £4 to be lectured by the council on how green I should be didn't sound like a good use of my Bank Holiday. Sounds as though many other people thought the same.

It isn't a council event..

Strange then that their website makes the opposite claim:
The project is a partnership between Green City Action and the Parks and Countryside department of Sheffield City Council, with additional support from the Streetforce department of Sheffield City Council and a marketing campaign from the Sheffield Newspapers Group.

I saw quiet a few Street Force people in green jumpers walking into the event about 9:30 Sunday Morning.
Incubus 26-05-2008, 11:59 AM I bet its them HONF people's fault...
