After a six month rest in the garage we decided it was fine time the XR4i came out. After breezing through the MOT with no problems and skinting us in road tax it was time to set out. Took it to work, it locked me out. Took it for a weekend run the anti roll bar bushes disintigrated. Took it to the shops last weekend and it sprung a water leak. Problem is the pipe which is leaking you cant get hold of. So im after picking your brains please.

Where can i get a bottom radiator hose for a 1984 Sierra XR4i. Ford dont do it, Samco dont do them, autorads dont do them,

Only thing I can suggest without having seen the shape of the hose is to make one up using 2 or more universal bends, and a length of straight pipe.

Alternatively one of the specialist manufacturers such as Samco may be able to make a special one-off using your old one as a sample, but it probably will be expensive.

just use a few samco universal hoses clamped together.
either that or if you still have the original, take it to some sort of metalworking company/fabricator and ask if they can heat a piece of tube to shape, or bend if they have a bender.

Not sure what fords have under the hood but maybe you can buy a silicone pipe to suit your needs like here: http://www.espdesign.co.uk/Silicone_Hose_(Parts)/c1605/index.html

i have some pieces of copper pipe at around one and a half inches diameter that you may be able to put in your rubber hose and put two jubilee clips on:)

if you think you can use some, pm me for my address:)

Thought i should update you all.

We managed to cut a piece off the existing pipe and fit it back on. Seems to be working. We made it to Santa Pod and back with no problems and even the Fiesta put in a good performance on the motorway.

The pipe we are after is only used on the 2.8 Sierras. It is different on the later XR4x4 models and capris.
