I went into Manchester and had lunch at the Cafe Rouge with one of my sons, I had a steak with seasoned mash potatoes and it was al fresco and delicious, as was the cafe latte. I then went shopping and bought a top and a ring.

We took her mind off things today though, I was dafter than usual!:hihi:

I took the dogs out in the sunshine for a walk just outside Loxley. That was the purpose of my day.

I think tomorrow we'll go out into the Peak District for our walk. There have to be some good points to being too ill to work and getting rained on in an assortment of beautiful places is one of them. Another is getting to sleep in if I want to (and I usually want to).

Medusa, my brother lives in Wildboarclough, he gets a lot of ramblers, and there is a lovely little church nearby, Lord Derby has a huge house at the back, and next door to my brother's house is the Old Post House - a listed building - do you ever get up that way?

Yes, I've been to Ironbridge, some years ago, would like to go again. The claim that the Industrial revolution started there has been contested by other places (depends how you define it, I suppose), but there is no doubt it was a seminal site for the development of important technologies.

Then I filled my car up with petrol, then onto the post office to send off a parcel, then the corner shop for 4 birthday cards and some sweeties.

Then I went back home.

Going out again soon to my son's house to drop off his birthday present and card. Then I might call at Asda on my way home, then home for tea, which is all ready, and its a lovely big salad!

went to Ormskirk market, but bought a cerise raffia parasol for the garden table, and a mauve silky top, then on to Southport where it was hot and had to stop about three times for drinks, had lunch at the carvery in the Prince of Wales hotel which was very enjoyable (I like nice surroundings)

btw in Ormskirk I saw the best bistro decor I've ever seen, silver and black furnishings, and soft pink and black flowered upholstered seating, with a screen to watch all the couture house models parading the in fashions.
