Poor old sophie, she still keeps looking for Charlie and is not the same on her own:( teeny 22-05-2008, 07:01 PM aww sweetie i am sorry for that. What toys do you have for your chincilla's ? I like to be able to stimulate them so they arn't bored? I also want to let them out every evening as i believe its important for them to have exercise too. dane-katie 22-05-2008, 07:14 PM Its not good to be letting them out for long periods of time as this can make them too hot as they dont loose heat like humans do, please be careful as this can kill them. Chinny safe toys are brilliant you can get these stuff from pets @ home etc make sure there is plenty for them to chew on, chinny safe wood they love apple tree branches washed and cleaned correctly they will become your best friend lol We used to give ours charnwood pellets they are brilliant food for them :D teeny 22-05-2008, 10:05 PM I have always just let them outfor an hour or so at a time, i thought i was being kind , when i was younger we had 2 eat the pellmets of my mums curtains, she wasn't pleased. The 2 I may take in for rehoming need abit of attention and building up , My expertise is mainly rabbits and guinea pigs but i am sure i will learn to look after them properly. I have read up on them over the past few months, amyrach 22-05-2008, 10:11 PM i have a chipolata lol holidayhutch 22-05-2008, 10:17 PM We have several that come here for boarding and I think they are fantastic. We let them out in short bursts of no more than 20 minutes a couple of times a day because of their tendency to overheat very easily. Whilst they are out exercising we pop their marble slab in the fridge to give it an extra cool down so they have someone to cool down when they go back in. I love watching them have their dust baths too. chancherie 31-05-2008, 11:51 AM I have 2 of these a white and a grey one :D love them to bits :) very easy to look after aswell . one problem i do have though as chinchillas like to be with eachother ... mine don't they fight if they get put together so two seprate cages danimarie 31-05-2008, 11:54 AM i dont have a chinchilla but i have 2 degus. which are really cute and tame, they are great. chinny_chins 02-06-2008, 05:04 PM I have 3 gorgoeus female chinchillas which i am desparately trying to rehome, can anyone help? thanks,x neeeeeeeeeek 02-06-2008, 05:12 PM They don't like cats though do they else I would love a few of the little beasties! beth84 02-06-2008, 08:54 PM I am a breeder of chinchillas. I have around 30 at any one time. They are adorable creatures and make lovely pets if you have the time to care for them properly. I have owned them for about 5 years now and love them You are viewing an archive. To view the actual thread click here: Sheffield Forum | |
