TV, flicks? willman 22-05-2008, 13:07 Off to the movies in a mo, for an early preview showing. Hopefully earlier than the schoolkids and adolescents who make cinema going a chore. NEKRO138 22-05-2008, 13:15 Seen it. Action sequences are brilliant, especially in the jungle, but the storyline is shocking, and the end is a bit rubbish. Entertaining though. Smithster 22-05-2008, 14:33 Going to see it tonight, got tickets for the 9pm showing so hopefully there won't be too many screaming kids in there. JarvisCocker 22-05-2008, 14:59 Wanted to, but decided to go at the weekend now. Hope it's good! Celestial 22-05-2008, 18:23 Not me.......... donuticus 22-05-2008, 18:47 Seen it. Action sequences are brilliant, especially in the jungle, but the storyline is shocking, and the end is a bit rubbish. Entertaining though. I think that says it all perfectly. The ending is absolutely ridiculous. Kry10 22-05-2008, 19:06 Fiancee is taking me to see this for my b'day pressie. Funky_Gibbon 22-05-2008, 19:11 Off to the movies in a mo, for an early preview showing. Hopefully earlier than the schoolkids and adolescents who make cinema going a chore. If you wanted that you should have gone to the special midnight preview on Wednesday night/Thursday morning. ;) I'm probably going to go see it on Bank Holiday Monday - woe betide any annoying brat that chats or plays with their mobile during the film... Smithster 23-05-2008, 08:03 Saw it last night and thoroughly enjoyed it, although it took me a while to accept it was an Indiana Jones film. Somehow, it didn't seem right being set in the stereotypical view of 1950s America. There is something about the whole romanticism of the 1930s when the original films were set. It was a bit far-fetched in parts, but surely that's the point (although the young lad swinging through the trees like Tarzan really was a step too far in my opinion). And anybody who says the ending is ridiculous - how is it any more ridiculous that Jones finding the Ark of the Covenant from which the power of god is unleashed and kills anybody who dares to look at it? Or Finding the holy grail and saving his father's life by making him drink from the fountain of eternal youth? NEKRO138 23-05-2008, 08:09 I don't want to spoil it for everyone with my explanation, so I'll just say I thought that at the end, I thought 'it' was a bit much and a bit tacky. donuticus 23-05-2008, 09:55 By the end I was expecting cameo's from some of the characters in Lucas' other epic saga. While I agree that the endings to the other films were silly they still worked and didn't feel that silly this just went to far I feel. alicat_26 23-05-2008, 11:56 Was enjoyable enough - I agree with the boy swininging through the trees on vines was ridiculous! How could he possibly have caughtup with a vehicle going 40mph? I saw it last night @ Valley Centertainment, was fully booked theatre, I may have enjoyed it more if it werent for the hoards of people who insist on rustling sweet packets, popcorn constantly throught the whole film - gggrrrr!! |
