Only if I get lucky! sorry, I know its an old joke..... Lol! sparklesista 05-04-2005, 13:42 Just giving this a *bump* so is no-one going then? Kristian where are you? :D DaBouncer 05-04-2005, 13:45 well I've just got you on Climax guestlist, so either way... you're going :P boyface 05-04-2005, 13:49 Right, is it just me, or are gay nights in Sheffield just cheesy? I'm not gay myself but I've been to quite a few nights that are promoted as "gay nights" purely because the music is good. There used to be a few in Sheffield that were kinda aimed at specific musical tastes, but man, what's happened? Look at other cities like Manchester, Bristol, Newcastle etc and you see credible gay nights. But look at Sheffield now and anything relating to gay nights are the musical equivalent of the disco in the school hall when you were 12. The music is just lowest common denominater drivel. I know gay people in Sheffield who find this frustrating...anyone else think this? mjlacey21 05-04-2005, 14:22 Completely agree with you boyo. Cant stand that cheesyness at all. Why are there no gay drum and bass nights?! Charlie369 05-04-2005, 15:21 Totally agree. The only reason people go to nights like climax are because they are gay which causes the organisors not to have to put any effort in. Gay club music in sheffield is abosolute ****! Meaks 05-04-2005, 15:25 I've had a break from it for a few months as I'd got a bit sick and tired of it. Might go again on Friday though, if I aint too drunk :) nick2 05-04-2005, 15:47 Originally posted by boyface Right, is it just me, or are gay nights in Sheffield just cheesy? I only used to go to Climax when I was single to "pull", you hardly go for atmosphere or music. Now I have a boyfriend (who I met in a "straight" pub) and neither of us want to spend all night listening to Kylie and cheesy disco, so we don't go. damo 05-04-2005, 15:49 it's a laugh more than anything I shall be going for the first time in ages.......If my arm is better after last weeks VIP that is Kristian 05-04-2005, 15:54 Originally posted by sparklesista Just giving this a *bump* so is no-one going then? Kristian where are you? :D I'll be going if I can drag Billie along, and if finances permit! Might see you there Sparkle! Ahh, it's nice to be thought of! JoyfulGrrl 05-04-2005, 15:57 Originally posted by boyface Right, is it just me, or are gay nights in Sheffield just cheesy? . . . I know gay people in Sheffield who find this frustrating...anyone else think this? I am so with you on this one, boyface! I go to Climax occasionally, purely because it's nice to be in an LGB space, and every single time I go I think - why am I here again? It's ****E!!! I'm hoping the VIP bar is filling that glaring niche in the market - a classy LGB bar. From the threads I've read here it sounds promising. . . ?? Having said all this, I work for an LGB project in Chesterfield, and OMG, if you've experienced the scene there, then Climax is the height of tasteful luxury . . . :hihi: That's no excuse though... I know I really shouldn't name my clothes, but he is my favourite coat! :D K x Kthebean 08-04-2005, 05:13 A coat named Horace. It sounds like a film!! *yawn* morning :) Kristian 08-04-2005, 05:36 Originally posted by kathythebean A coat named Horace. It sounds like a film!! *yawn* morning :) Horace heard what you just said, and he wasn't best pleased! :( You better watch yourself bean lady! He's a 'hard nut' despite being a coat, and I have difficulty controlling him. I won't even tell you about the time he bludgeoned that handbag and an underskirt to death 'cos they looked at him the wrong way! Maybe I'll leave him at home tomorrow.... K x Kthebean 08-04-2005, 05:41 This town ain't big enough for the two of us, Horace. (thats right, I'm challenging a coat to a duel. It must be early) Kristian 08-04-2005, 05:49 Originally posted by kathythebean This town ain't big enough for the two of us, Horace. (thats right, I'm challenging a coat to a duel. He's set of for yours armed with a size twelve loafer, (his best friend, but so far unnamed) and a coat hanger (they have a very close working relationship!) I'll keep my fingers crossed for your safe keeping. I was so ashamed when that pair of culottes had to enter the witness protection program last year! I think it may be time to get this thread back on topic now..... PM me if he turns up K! :D |
