View Full Version : Would you get a British Passport? Lickszz 04-10-2003, 13:55 There is a little test below. Have a go and see. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/3077964.stm DaBouncer 04-10-2003, 14:01 5 out of 10... that's it. Send me to the states!:o Lickszz 04-10-2003, 14:06 My score was 8/10, those sodding pop groups, I know nothing about them. mr craig 04-10-2003, 14:08 8 out of 10 for me aswell, queens birthday and the breaks at work caught me out. max 04-10-2003, 15:09 8 / 10 Pop & working time regulations did for me Embarassingly, I knew about Her Maj. John 04-10-2003, 15:30 5/10 I'd be more worried if people got 10/10 when coming in. They are more than likely would have been trained by the very people who organize human traffic. Would a genuine asylum seeker who is rushed to flee their country be all clued up? Moon Maiden 04-10-2003, 15:37 I got 8/10 - prime ministers and break times! Moon Carlwarker 04-10-2003, 15:51 Since they trashed the 'James Bond' type, the Euro-one, looks crappy and is undistinguishable (Wow, a word of 17 letters!) from many others. Only use my Brit passport for coming into the UK - otherwise I use my Canadian one - it's 'more welcome' in many parts of the world. Funke88 04-10-2003, 16:35 4 out of 10 Shame on me! I had no clue on a couple of questions. Do you think they'll let me back in? Maybe I'll have my passport confiscated when I visit next month! Phanerothyme 04-10-2003, 17:03 4/10 - so no luck for me, and I will be applying for one in the near future. upholder 04-10-2003, 17:09 9/10 I need to get out more :) Failed on who is first minister of the Welsh Assembly? I only know the Queens birthday as its the day before mine. Might be to an immigrant applying for British citizenship ;) Carlwarker 04-10-2003, 17:40 I was - quite obviously - refering to your disdain in not knowing the answer to a trivial question. upholder 04-10-2003, 17:49 My apologies Carlwarker. Some people take triviality quite seriously you know. But I agree who cares who is first minister of the Welsh Assembly. And before everyone jumps.......A Welsh citizen :o Carlwarker 04-10-2003, 18:04 I know U, and I find it interesting that many pubs, on quiz-night, concern themselves with a plethera of questions relating to TV programmes (usually soaps), football or boy (or girlie) pop groups. So, if you don't watch the soaps, or follow football or the latest young group looking for 15 minutes of fame, then you're 'out'. alchresearch 04-10-2003, 18:04 Originally posted by upholder My apologies Carlwarker. And before everyone jumps.......A Welsh citizen :o He'll be their PM if they get their wish in becoming an independent country. Belle 04-10-2003, 22:34 Having met Rhodri and Julie, I bet he cares who runs their little principality.......dont you? Belle 04-10-2003, 22:37 500 years of proven English ancestory and I managed 7 That must prove that I am not one of these folk that lay store by their history, right? Or I am just crap at pop groups and weather girls? LMAO MrH 04-10-2003, 22:42 <------------------ {smug} I got 9 out of 10 - I thought I could take a kettle back if I already had one! If they sold them at Marks & Spencer I could! If they sold them at Marks & Spencer I could! I got that kettle question wrong also. Maybe it's because here in the US you can get your money back on anything just as long as you have a receipt plus it has to be less than a year old. Walmart is great for that. I've even taken stuff back without a receipt. Funke88 04-10-2003, 23:14 Originally posted by Carlwarker I know U, and I find it interesting that many pubs, on quiz-night, concern themselves with a plethera of questions relating to TV programmes (usually soaps), football or boy (or girlie) pop groups. John 04-10-2003, 23:19 I got that Q wrong also. I did see a program on TV once where a guy had a credit agreement with a 28 day cancellation notice. He'd cancel it and go into another shop to get the latest upto date model only to return it back. Most things in his house is less than 1 month old and free. upholder 05-10-2003, 16:52 FYI about the kettle. When you are not entitled to anything! If you were told of any faults before you bought the goods. If the fault was obvious and it would have been reasonable to have noticed it on examination before buying. If you caused any damage yourself. You bought the goods more than six years ago If you made a mistake, e.g. you don't like the colour, it is the wrong size etc. You have changed your mind about the goods, or seen them cheaper elsewhere. I wasn't really concentrating properly and the boss walked into the office at the same time as I was clicking on the queen's birthday so that went wrong. Lost the plot after that. Stupid quiz anyway......off to sulk now. Humph. halevan 06-10-2003, 14:43 Originally posted by Lickszz There is a little test below. Agreed, stupid quiz :? fuzzy 26-10-2003, 15:02 Yep me too only got 3 but i have just renewed mine so i'm alright for now.:D Fletch 26-10-2003, 16:40 3/10 fpr me but i think i did well seems i have onlyh been around for 14yrs and can only remember 6 at the most t020 26-10-2003, 19:15 9 out of 10 for me. Caught out by the Welsh assembly question. Foxxx 28-10-2003, 17:09 8! Kettle and Queens bday. Like I care when her birthday is, (although I'll remember it now)! And I've taken things back before because I haven't liked it, or got two and not had a problem changing it! Some of those questions were quite hard and I don't think have anything to do with being British! I bet people from other countries would equally get questions wrong about their own countries! gwizz 28-10-2003, 17:42 9! dont know (or care much) about queens bday. I'm sure she gets enough pressies to keep her going. Despite my moaning at times I'm proud to be a citizen in this country and what it stands for. I only started to appreciate this after travelling abroad. We do have a stronger emphasis than most nations on decency, kindness, honesty, fair play. Also emotional repression, poor food, conservatism etc. But on balance, I'd rather be here than there. New Age 29-10-2003, 20:25 2 for me. Methinks I'm screwed. Doesn't matter though cause I wanna live in Siberia anyhow . . . :headbang: jstanley85 13-11-2003, 01:46 That was bloody difficult. I got a 4/10. Guess I didn't know much. Got the Welsh questions right for some reason. Didn't get the Prime Ministers or the pop group. Never heard of Westlife. bassoon 20-11-2003, 18:30 6 out of 10, not too bad. I will, however, stick with my German passport. Houdi 24-11-2003, 23:23 A dismal one out of ten. Spelt my name right, I think. Doesn't matter much as my passport's been confiscated anyway. Why do English Football fans always get the blame for everything? I did not nut that kraut during the World Cup, but whose story did they believe? That's British justice for you. saxon51 29-11-2003, 11:50 I would never get a British passport. Why? Because I'm so proud of this country and consider its scenery, customs, people and food to be the best in the world so have no desire to ever go abroad. And before anyone asks, yes, I have been abroad before during 12 years in the army (the best army in the world, EVER, bar none) My only criticism, we make lousy family cars. RULE BRITANNIA !!! halevan 29-11-2003, 14:11 I have already got one!!! |
