Can anyone recommend a good personal trainer, one that is knowledgeable about diet as well as exercise.

Most personal trainers charge £20+ p/h, you're better off signing up at Fitness First/Fitness Unlimited and speaking to one of the trainers there for free.

I've tried the gym route and I'm poor at keeping myself motivated hence the reason for lookimg for 1-2-1.

I'd go for the 1-2-1 method, they may charge more but at least you don't have to sign up to them for 12 months

Failing that - you could always try belly dancing with us! That's great exercise but a lot of fun too!!!

There's a couple advertise at Hillsborough - Can't remember which one I opted for when I had a session to learn how to use the fitball properly, but it was a woman called Alison and she's great.

You might find going to the gym with someone else though just as good that way you'll feel you have to go so as not to let them down.

hey. I've just become a member of the gym above ask near john lewis. I never thought i would go but they offer unlimited free personal training. you can book in ahead and to be honest, there so nice you would feel guilty missing the appointment. plus their advise is brilliant and good look not working 100% with them training you! ive got membership for the next 3 months and its only cost me £60. The gyms non trendy so u get real people in there rather than your gym buffs. ive never been happier with a gym and beat paying seperatly for a personal trainer

Best personal trainer I've had is the one I use at the moment. down at Ponds Forge. He really knows his stuff.

Have to agree with "wadders".

I have used (still using) the James at Ponds. Each time i go i feel knackered at the end. Also, he gives you sessions to do in between sessions with him.

And, when i'm in the gym doing my other sessions, i keep hearing his voice saying, "pull your stomach in" or "keep your back straight" - it's like having jiminy cricket on your shoulder!

But am already seeing results - if only i didn't like lager/cakes/takeaways i'd be like kate moss!

Hi Liose, I'd be up for a bit of belly dancing, where do you go?
