I am having some difficulty locating a flat suitable for my needs.

My ex-partner and I have separated and I need to move out of our shared home. I receive Incapacity Benefit and, although I am not claiming it at the moment, should be perfectly entitled to receive Housing Benefit upon application.

Right now, I have sufficient funds to pay a full deposit and 2 months rent in advance, during which time a new claim for Housing Benefit should doubtless be processed.

I am also waiting for a large inheritance to be finalised which will cause me to become ineligible for means tested benefits, but which will also remove my need for them.

The problem is that my ex-partner is, understandably, pressing for me to move out now, rather than wait for the (very large) lump sum to arrive and most landlords/agents stipulate NO DSS.

My search so far has been quite frustrating and I hope someone can help by pointing me towards a more flexible landlord with a suitable flat for rent.

I am looking for a one bedroom flat with a clean and reasonably modern interior, preferably located somewhere between Woodseats and the Town Centre. I smoke but do not have any pets and the flat would be just for me.
