Richard Hell and the Voidoids supporting The Clash at the Top Rank in '77,
oh how them pint glasses and ashtrays flew through the air!!!
Nico playing in The Marples, with what looked like spaghetti on her head.
Trouble with skinheads, on the Rock Against Racism Tour.
Blondie supporting Television at The City Hall.
Great days!
Slaughter and the Dogs not turning up at the Sheff Polytechnic leaving their support act, Sham 69 to put on the rawest punk performance I ever witnessed :D
A remarkable 'punk party' in leafy Fulwood one Saturday night, held in my mates house while his parents were out. Neighbours were definately not impressed by the sight of numerous 15-18 yr olds dressed in torn clothes and black bin bags vomiting profusely over the manicured grass verges :hihi:
I need stories like these for my project(book)..lets get the story of the punk generation up here finally put in print...anyone with a story to tell no matter how small or large please contact me at rotherpunk@aol.com

:loopy:there isnt a punk scene nowadays, its had a take over by emos and minnie moshers (didnt you hear the song? its a cheap imitation if goth, lol) who took over dev, and peace gardens about 2 years ago, and people have forgotten what its about anway, its a state of mind and an attitude not dying ur hair black with pink streaks, and buying the most expensive converse or rocky horrors stuff.
punk, real punk is a rare species and close to being extinct
not that im morbid or anything :D
Our Generation has recieved 100% POSITIVE feedback so far with some great press coverage (Sheff star, Telegraph, South Yorkshire Times, Rotherham Advertiser etc)...a review in Record Collector magazine coming up next month too...
Everyone who has read it from Jo Callis (REzillos), Martin Lilleker (Beats workin' for a living) Punk fans, Mods and all those who contributed and many more all of them have enjoyed it and some are on their 2nd read....
