Hi, we have decided to get married at the Botanical Gardens next year. Just wondered if any1's been to a wedding there because I'm not sure whether to dress up the pavillion with flowers etc or would the plants be just enough. I don't want it to look plain and I know the gardens are quite stunning anyway.
Also we were going to have a champagne toast afterwards but is there anything else we could do as we get the pavillion for a hour. Sorry this post is sketchy I'm typing whilst feeding my son!

We got married there in June 2006, I went down a couple of days before and the flower beds and urns in front of the pavillion were bare. I was distraught!! I callled the curator (you will be pleased to know its not the same one now) and he didn't feel it was an issue and made no attempt to rectify the situation. However on the day I didn't notice as there were so many other flowers so I am glad I didn't let this spoil our lovely day.
We didn't bother with dressing up the pavillion as it is really beautiful in its own right, I just had a tied bouquet of sweet peas. Nor did we take champagne as we thought it would be a hassle, the kids present made good use of the ice cream van though!
After the ceremony we all went for a walk through the gardens which presented some lovely photo opportunitys.
I hope you have a lovely day, get in touch if you have any other questions.
Kind regards,
Sarah

I am also getting married there next year and had decided not to bother.

Just out of curiousity, how many guests are you sqeezing in / did you sqeeze in? We're thinking of inviting people to the gardens but not having them all in the Pavillion.
