For people who have made AET predictions (Royal Regular ), you may wish and choose to amend them as you will gain more points for the prediction of an incorrect score draw after 90 minutes, than an incorrect score win after 120 minutes.

Alternatively, you may just predict the win, and therefore get more points for a win within the 90 minutes, if that is the case.

If you leave your 2 x aet predictions the way they are, I will have to interpret your 90 minute score predictions as an incorrect score draw, and your selected result only if the game goes to 120 minutes.

Well which is to be then?
You can only predict one result!
I'll take your 90 minute prediction for the draw; unless you amend it again.

e.g.
If you JUST predict Man Utd to win 3-2, AND LEAVE AET out of it; then you'll get 6 points (doubled to twelve) if they win 3-2 in 90 minutes ;
If they win 3-2 in 120 minutes, you will get 5 points (doubled to ten)
If they win by another score in 90 mins you win get 2 points doubled to 4, or after 120 minutes 1 point doubled to 2; or just 1 point of they win on penalties.

If you JUST predict the draw, with correct score after 90 mins or 120 minutes it will give you same as above, or 3 points (doubled to six) for draw with wrong score after 90- minutes )

You get the best option/total , but only one choice!

A very impressive debut from Scott F, who rattled up 41 points by correctly predicting both Celtic and Donny to win 1-0, and Stockport 3-2.

Barnie and “Mack The knife” also predicted 3-2 to Stockport, whilst
Ally correctly called Hull to win 1-0 and I hear Mrs T ‘s been dining out on Donny’s 1-0 win.

Sammsufc deserves credit for the prediction that Doncaster would thrash Leeds. Unfortunately she got the score wrong.

But, it’s Tiprat we must congratulate as the deserved overall league winner, for hanging on by just one point in the face of a late challenge from Royal Regular and myself, with Mr Sheffield also just one prediction away.

Some justice was done. I would have actually felt some guilt about making it double points this week, had he missed out on such an accolade. ( I suggest dropping the "double points" next year, but continuing to differentiate between 90 and 120 minute victories).

As initially stated, this has been an experiment, on the back of the league, which CB has efficiently run throughout the season.

There may indeed be a place for such an extension at the end of next season, especially if matters are as interesting and tight as they have been across the board this year. Maybe we will start it off a couple of weeks before the end of the regular season, (in parallel with the Sheffield team prediction thread) perhaps in the General football thread next year, and post links from here.
(Re. Suggestion of a Euro 2008 prediction league; sorry, I won’t be able to organise it , as I will be on holiday around the time of the later group games and quarter finals.)

Thanks to everyone who has participated, and CB for kicking the whole thing off, and his work throughout the year.

Have a good summer, everyone.

Final table (with the points scored this week in brackets)
1. Tiprat 67 (12)
2. Royal Regular 66 (24) , Geo 66 (32)

Thanks.

Apologies (to those already aware), for the replicating information.

I have changed my mind and have started a Euro 2008 prediction league.
