I accidentally found myself redirected to this page and ended up with something silly like 47 viruses I've listed some of the ones i found: the best way to see if any of these are on your sysytem is to press the control alt and delete twice, well here goes
autoupdate/autoupdate
nem220.dll
ctxpls.dll
mediaaccess.exe
Mediaack.exe
msnappau.exe
ide2101.vxd
mediaaccess.mediaack.

Ignore the remove buttons they offer you as they add more viruses on to your pc. The only way I could stop it was to reboot my pc and wipe teh hard drive. I think they all sponsor each other and when ever you try to go to a microsoft page the dreaded optimizer page comes up and adds some more stuff on. A couple of the programs can be stopped with the contarol alt delete thing but unfortuanatelly not for long and teh files hide themselves really well in all sorts of folders. i thought i should let you know because i think its a reasonablly new virus adware type of thing. I think the only way to stop mindless hackers and virus freaks would be that every time the pcs on the number its been dialling from has to be logged somewhere. Well heres hoping no one else gets the same nightmare i've had today

don't know if that works or not but i managed to get a free spyware program from microsoft last night which seems pretty good. I had a firewall installed panda antivirus which is pretty good on the most part but it only detects proper viruses and the other programs that had logged onto my system were something like adware. Well thefree program from microsoft is anti spyware beta and its a pretty fast one. Wish i'd found that out b4 i deleted my hard drive.

You really should have done a search on here for threads on dealing with spyware and malware as there's quite a few now.

Formatting is not generally required unless you really fubar the machine.

not but depending on ur setup it is alot easier to do some of the time.

i.e. i have a windows partition, any problems (or if i fancy a clear up of program files) i just reformat.

obviously not the best way to go, but not always the worst

stuff like that pops up on me but i just ignore nething like that.

unless i've specifically gone looking for somthing like that n i know its a trusted thingy i ignore everything.

all from ecperience though,lol!

when i got some spyware on my comp once a box like that popped up, disguised as somthing from microsoft, telling me i had spyware on my comp and had a link to remove it, i foolishly followed it and ended up with even more that i couldnt get rid of and had to get my comp re-formated.

I wouldn't recommend anyone to press CTRL-ALT-DELETE twice to find out if they have this virus/adware or not.

yep, they ignore ie trackers etc.

thats why it is always good to use more than one, to pick up what the other misses.

ad aware and microsoft anti spyware for example
