Does anybody else find it ironic that this builder destroyed a speed bump because of the noise?

As someone who has recently had a house built within 10 yards of my back fence I find it odd that this builder should even notice noise. Perhaps if he put his radio on as loudly as most of them do, then moved the tuning dial ever so slightly off station, then moved round to the other side of the house so he couldn't hear it he wouldn't have been able to hear the traffic noise.
Oh, and please let's not use this thread as a place to post threads about speed humps, that's covered somewhere else.
