Aarghhhhhhhh Im so very very angry just had to come on here and tell you why.

Round & about Shiregreen some of the large old trees that line our grass verges & roads have been cut down. I dont know the reason why but should think its a good one.
Yesterday I noticed many new young trees have been planted to replace them.

knowing what the young teenagers are like that live local to me I thought the young trees dont stand much chance of staying put.
Sure enough the young tree out side my house lasted around 11 hours because some thoughtless yobs dug it up and threw it in my next door neighbours garden leaving & nice big dangerous hole behind at midnight.
I think its beacuse they can't find any more phone boxes to smash up & blow up.

Waste of money & a real shame would have been nice to see it grow.

Does any one know of a phone number I can ring to rescue the poor unearthed tree???

There's been a lot of coverage in the media this week about tree felling.

The story is that councils are felling trees which produce conkers or fruit or create slippy pavements (Lime trees in particular) to avoid people slipping or falling from them and suing the council.

I was in Brockwood Park in Woodhouse today where there are just a couple of swings left. The roundabout, slide, water fountain and rocking horse have all been removed in recent years. Are other parks in Sheffield the same?

Why don't councils just put up a disclaimer sign like pubs do on their kiddies playgrounds?

When I lived on the Philadelphia (nee Kelvin) estate I saw some yobs hacking the trees down with an axe. They weren't just digging them up. I called the police who did come round and they legged it when they saw the coppers. I didn't want to go outside until they had gone though. Who wants to be alone outside of an evening with a bunch of axe-wielding vandals?!?

and yet if one was to fire an air rifle at this amoeba (or more deservedly an 88mm Howitzer) one would find oneself at her maj's pleasure:loopy:
Justice. UK style.

Street force have just replaced the torn out tree out side my house.
I went out to tell them they are wasting their time, as soon as it gets dark then the teenagers are out playing footy & the tree gets in the way. I was told that they have to give it one more go.
Seems that people are uprooting the new trees so that they can have the wood supports so shorter supports are now being used....very odd
