HAS ANYONE GOT ANY IDEA WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH THIS DAMN CAR OF MY WIFES? IT IS AUTOMATIC AND SEEMS LIKE IT IS STUCK IN FIRST GEAR, IT IS MAKING A SCREAMING NOISE AS IT TRYS TO GO UP GEARS, SOMETIMES IT WONT GO PAST 20MPH, ONCE YOU GET IT TO 30 IT SEEMS FINE IF YOU CAN GET IT THERE. DO YOU THINK GEARBOX MIGHT HAVE GONE? HELP ! :help:

Have you checked to see if there is enough transmission fluid in it.

The problem you have is that you drive a car made in Britain :suspect:

Sounds like you have a gear missing - ie 2nd.

Automatic transmissions don't like to be over filled but it doesn't sound like that. I have an idea I had the same problem and it was a problem with the connection between the engine and gear box, I took it to a garage down near St Marys gate that specialised in automatic transmissions and they were increddibly helpful and soon had my little baby purring like a pussy cat.
