My kid has just ran in to tell me Flash Gordon is on tv :D I love this movie, it is totally cheesey but one of my all time faves. I have seen it a gazillion times probably and still watch it everytime it's on  Much to the hilarity of my family!
C'mon I can't be the only Flash fan, anybody else remember it?
Brian Blessed was the mighty hawkman, Max Von Sydow was Ming, Timothy Dalton, Peter Duncan, Richard O'Brien etc

Max is definato a good actor, he plays Minge extremely well. Is Brian Blessed form these parts because I have seen him several times walking on Fargate, unless he was up here working.
Oh I had no idea this was on, I love this film!
When I was a kid I used to watch it on TV with my grandad and we always used to sing along with the song then my grandad would take the mickey out of Flash all the time.

It was probably the first film I ever saw at the cinema.
Edit:- I'd have been 4 at the time.

I love the music and those trippy skies
i wish our sky looked like Mongo's!
But I have read that all of Flash's dialogue was dubbed over by another actor.
Did anyone watch The Highwayman with Sam Jones in it?
He had a huge truck and the cab transformed into a helicopter.
As far as i can remember it was on late on sunday night years ago.

Those skies were awesome huh! I don't remember the Highway Man, lol had his acting improved any?
Maybe I wasn't allowed up that late :( I remember begging and pleading with my mother one sunday to get up late to see Logan's Run - I knew all my mates would be watching it and if I didn't get to see it I woulda been a social outcast next day at school!!! Thankfully she relented :D and my street cred was saved!

LOL I have just noticed another cheesey 80s action/adverture/sci-fi flick on again today..... Krull.
I remember seeing this at the cinema as a kid, nowhere near as fabulous as Flash though :P

Try to see some of the original American dime theatre episodes starring Buster Crabbe if you want a laugh. You can buy them on DVD for next to nothing from the music shop that came over the Penines to settle in The Moor
