View Full Version : Multiple Quotes in Postings
StarSparkle 02-04-2005, 15:45 Following on from Graceomally's thread from yesterday, can anyone tell me how to quote from more than one post in the same posting?
This has puzzled me for a while ....
Cheers,
StarSparkle
I tend to hit the quote button for the first one, copy the post, paste it somewhere else, exit without saving, go to the next post, repeat and keep copying and pasting. Messy but seems to work.

Like that.
BobDaBuilder 02-04-2005, 16:30 If you use your scroll button on your mouse you can just scroll down when you have started a msg and all the previous posts are below....
Just put [ QUOTE ] & [ /QUOTE ] at the beginning of what you wanna highlight...without the spaces between [ & quote..!!!

Erm, ok that's a pretty long way round but whatever works for you...

BTW....if you wanna make the writing BOLD then same rule as above but [ B ] & [ /B]
There are many others, but just have a play around 1st....
How do you quote at all? i can never get it in a little white box???

I middle click each quote in FF to open in a seperate tab, then copy & paste to my hearts content. Takes a little while to get used to doing it this way, but it soon becomes second nature (CTRL + A, CTRL + X - Close Tab, CTRL + V, next tab....)

Ah but, my and Max's way allows other users to view who's quoting who, thus continuity is assured;).
but using the [ b ] [ i ] and [ quote ] tags appropriately still maintains that continuity.
Whichever works best for you though.

It's OK as long as you check your artistry afterwards. Part of my time as a mod is spent tidying up quotes where it's been done like this.
Errr... just press the shift button on your keyboard while you hit the quote button on the screen... as many times as you like, then cut n paste.
We all seem to have variations on a theme.
StarSparkle 02-04-2005, 20:13 Thanks very much for your help, everyone.
Looks like there are multiple ways to multiple quote! :D
I'll practice a bit, and see what works best for me.
Many thanks.
Cheers,
