If you were there and you don't pictures of you beamed across the world or if you simply don't want your username identified in the pics, please pm me or reply in this thread.

I ask this because perhaps some of you would prefer that your likeness not be revealed to others not present. No intended implications either!

Photos up on friday night (last objections at 9pm please).

It did, sorry I missed you Chloe.

I had a great time. Thank you all very much, a pleasure and a privilege.

this thread appears to have 1400 odd page views so far!

Hi everyone,

Sorry I didn't make it to the meet up tonight.

I had the weirdest day of my life, much of which was bad. When the evening came I just couldn't face it so went to bed instead!

Hopefully I'll make it to the next one.

In the meantime, I want to hear *all* the gossip!!

* Did anyone snog in the loos?

* Who managed the whole evening without buying a round?

* Who was sexier than you ever imagined them to?

* Who did you get on with loads better than you had thought you would?

* Who was there who you'd actually never heard of?

* And who did you talk to all night and still don't know their name but after hours of chatting were too embarrassed to ask?!

love Pippa x

Hi - I just got in, or as Sinatra would sing:'It's quarter-to-three - There's no-one in the place ...'

Just to say to all whom I met: 'Had a very enjoyable evening - Thankyou.'

max

Could only manage 40 mins but had a good time. Perhaps somewhere quieter next time, (the back room CR, perhaps) as I never did talk to anyone further than 2 seats away. But it was worth going just to put names to faces.

Hey folks.

Although I only made a brief appearance it was great to see some of the old faces and some of the new.

Some of the new comprised of: Max (the mod  ), Nommedenet and his good lady Fuzzy Purple, Chloe, JamieW, Dadda, Ying and Phanerothyme.

Also the others that turned up last time were: Lou, Foxxx, LouiseB, Hiyabeing, Classic Rock (aka Buffy) well she has to be there really.

Food again was great, say well done to Sass (or is it sash... I forget).

Also spotted... well the girl who didn't want to give her name the last time round... can I say it... oh bugger it... TinaJones.
Great to add the new faces to the names, looking forward to the next one... hopefully I'll stay the duration the next time around.

Hiya all - feeling a little delicate after last nights shindig

Pippa - I was snogging in the loo's all night on and off but I couldn't get anyone else to join me

Great to meet y'all - chatting was easier than I feared it might be.

Next time (isn't it 1st birthday of forum in dec?) should we try to have a laptop in the corner so we can log on and make a permanent record of our inane witterings?

Dear Sir
I object in the strongest possible terms to the so called 'photographs' taken at our meeting. Why do people keep insisting that these 'pictures' represent anything meaningful? My memory is clear and unambiguous; these pictures are forgeries or worse!

As you doubtless remember - I am a 6'4" bronzed god of a man, with chiselled features and a golden, faintly glowing aura of sensitivity and intelligence. My rippling muscles and strong, clear countenance set the soft, rich colours of my clothes and the delicate opulence of my jewellery in a beautiful contrast.

But somehow your ten-bob box of trickery has painted my features to look - shudderingly ordinary! I take that as an accusation of delusions - a challenge to my very being.

I will not rest while this injustice remains. If it falls upon one poor heroic figure (me) to wield the simple sword of photoshop upon these photographs, so be it. I beseech you, sir, to alter these lithoplates to reflect the true reality of my majesty.

I remain, your humble servant

Glad you all had a good time and enjoyed yourselves.
Sorry I had to keep popping out, we had an impromptu event in the other room and one of the bar staff had a migraine so couldn't help so I had to keep popping through to serve! The joys of pub land.

Sass says he's glad you liked the food.

The contract on the pub runs out on the 1st November (and of course I'll let you know if we can get an extension) but if you want to meet there again - in room 2 which is quieter - then it'll have to be before November to be on the safe side, but that may be too soon.....or is it?

Dear Sir, thank you for your recent enquiry.

I regret to inform you that the pictures you have seen were taken by our most experienced photographer using the latest Nikon KarmaScope Aura Imaging device.

As you know, this remarkable new technology is able to see beneath projected personas to reveal the true nature of the person within.

This is why you appear in the pictures as a malformed reptile, and not as a stunning, sun kissed adonis.

It was obviously a late night, with postings coming in at 2.30am. Maybe its a good job I shandied out at 10pm and went home to my bed.

Nice to see you all, some new some old faces. Many faces that looked a little blank when I gave my name - probably coz I've been quiet for the last few weeks. So I will have to make a conscious effort to take 5 minutes out from work, and catch up with the news and stories of the day.

I am also gonna find myself a picture to use as avatar and a quote (coz there's loads of them that I love), and then I'm going to post new threads every time I think of something silly or unknown (well maybe not EVERY time - because I don't have enough time in the world for that many), and see what happens!!!!
SO THERE!

OK broadband users first I'm afraid. Needs a plugin, but should download automatically, oh and and Internet Exploder too.

http://www.skunkulike.co.uk/gallery/sfmeetjavagallery/

you can chat and see one another move around the gallery in 3d (approx 4mb in total)

tip: use grey bar down middle of window to resize 3d window. Smaller the 3d window is, the bigger the enlargements are on the right when you click on the photos on the wall.

plain vanilla html gallery later tonight I promise.

Your hypergallery is a pleasing bauble, a fit place for the showing of icographs of mortals and gods. I verily consent to my depiction hereof.

However, your encapturing apparatus has made me out to be consorting with the common people a little too closely. I require, thus, that you repaint these images to better reflect my measure.

…that CW stayed out till 3am! you dirty old stop out! (Tina quote)

There’s an old (no pun intended) Chinese proverb that says: ‘An old horse knows the road.’

And don’t forget: ‘Old hippies don’t die, they just lie low until the laughter stops and their time comes round again.’ - Joseph Gallivan (b. 1964), British journalist. Independent (London, August 30, 1990).

Sir,

With regard to your use of the cacographic word ‘Cactacophagy’ Being as no such word to is to be found to describe the eating of a small dumpling cactus known as Peyote, in a search of several dictionaries and the net. Perhaps the Greek form ‘cactacophagia’ would not be such cacology. Maybe the ingestation of 3,4,5-Trimethoxybenzeneethanamine would surfice, or would that be a synthetic case of cacography and cacology.

I remain Sir,

I'm the one kneeling on the floor on the right in the group photo. It's up to everyone else to identify themselves.

CRB, Now you see why I stopped shooting with flash, it's tremendously unflattering. That's a great bar you have by the way, good vibe in the main room there as I was ferrying drink back to the SF 'suite'.

Yes I'm really pleased I didn't think "F*cking merc drivers, blocking the carpark exit" and start honking and flashing my lights. That would've been deeply embarrassing

Instead I thought, "wow, what a shiny car, i'd better not go anywhere near it with my dodgy clutch control or it will end up costing me a fortune"

Sorry to have missed you, see you next time I hope!

Hmm, my first thought was dirty car driver setting off w/o looking to see if the exit was clear. But as a caring driver of a shiny car I reversed into the path of the oncoming police car w/o comment.

Next time, hombre, it'll be musical pocket watches and dodgy moustaches at 50 paces.

Keep nagging in this thread and you may get your wish from those who don't mind naming and shaming themselves.

AFAIK LindseyW any pic of you I happen to take at our next meet, you can ask me to pixellate you out (or replace your head with the head of boticelli's venus (for example)) and I will do it without hesitation.

Nomme didn't have to ask me to pixelate him, when I saw the pic, I censored it myself. :D :D

Lindsey

I wonder if I can help you out there, the great god DaBouncer refuses to get in photos so if you were looking for him, he isnt there, actually I think he had already gone at that point

Jamie, who is actually rather more good looking than his photo, kept moving every time Phan pointed the camera at him, so you will have to take my word for that.

The staggeringly tall bloke is Dadda, but he was really standing on the rail and isnt that tall.

Hiyabeing has picked herself out.

Phan and Robert and Carl and , Foxx, Lou, Ying, Gillian, Fuzzy Purple etc must point themselves out to you

Several others werent around at the photo stages unfortunately

I hope I have answered your curiousity without giving up anyone else's secret.

Too late for teh main piccy I'm afraid (am I really?). You can the back of my right shoulder in one shot - and all of my back in another! So you STILL won't be able to recognise me!!

I thought Nomme was charming

Although his quiet silence did make me wonder if he would have rather been anywhere else on the planet, except that Mrs Nomme, FuzzyPurple, had wanted him to come along so badly that he gave in anyway...

and while I am on....

(I think that is a northern phrase, not sure if it is a Sheffield phrase but people back in Teesside would recognise it... it means something like "while you are still listening")

What happened to Back2Basics (unfortunate Tory sounding name but he clearly is NOT one of those) and his American wife.

I thought that Nomme and FuzzyPurple were Mr and Mrs B2B when they walked in because they were the only couple I knew I was expecting to see. So B2B wasnt there and as far as I know he hasnt posted since.

Anyone have an explanation?

Or should I just comment on the fact that you never see Mr and Mrs Fuzzy Purple in the same room as Mr Back2Basics and his wife?

Any of you ever seen The Ring?

Just taking a peek at the picture DSCN2304 (the group pic) and some of your faces are distorted and blurred, like they are after you have watched The Ring videotape!!!

I'd be worried about that!!!

My goodness, lots of posts, haven't read them all yet. Not really been online much since the meet due to being away for the weekend, but had a great time on Thursday night. Great to meet you all and see some familiar faces.

I also missed the deadline for the photo, so there is yet another minging picture of me out there on the net! lol
