Rock Group Plc in Administration
Computers held by the company at appointment for repair
We were appointed administrators of Rock Group Plc (Rock) on 8 May 2008.
On our appointment, Rock held a number of laptops belonging to customers, the majority of which were awaiting repair.
Rock had ceased trading prior to our appointment and is currently unable to undertake service and warranty work.
However, the administrators are in advanced discussions with a number of interested parties, with the aim of completing a sale of the business within 7-10 days of their appointment and, if a sale of the business can be achieved, it is likely that a purchaser will wish to preserve the goodwill in the business by completing outstanding service and warranty work and returning these computers to customers as quickly as possible.
In the meantime, we would like to reassure customers that their laptops will be securely stored.
Please note that the administrators are not currently in a position to return laptops to customers as the courier firm who delivered the computers to customers is demanding payment of significant arrears before resuming service. The administrators are in the process of making alternative arrangements.
However, any customer wishing to collect their laptop should make arrangements to so do through customer services (0845 155 0999) in the normal manner.
The administrators believe that the interests of Rock customers are best served by a rapid sale of the business and are working hard together with Rock staff to achieve this aim.
If a sale of the business cannot be achieved, we understand from the Directors that Rock maintained an insurance policy to cover the extended period of the warranty (years two and three following purchase). We are currently liaising with the insurers to confirm the cover provided by this policy and to confirm the alternative arrangements they would provide in the event that a sale of the business cannot be achieved.
Due to the limited number of staff available the above line will only be manned from Monday to Friday between 9.00 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. Outside of these hours please go to the Rock website and complete a support ticket detailing your query. You will then be contacted as quickly as possible by a member of the team.
The administrators would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
