I visited The Vivienne Westwood Exhibition in The Winter Gardens yesterday. This is the second time Ive been this year. I believe it finishes at the end of September. I am not a fan of hers, but to see her creations , is something else.! I was never into Punk Rock, but she combines such unusual materials together, like Harris Tweed with silk or leather. Some of the outfits are quite erotic, but very interesting and startling. Well worth a visit.

oooo, thanks for the reminder Patricia, I definitely want to try and visit before it finishes. I had a peek in the lovely shop in town (Division street I think) to drool over some of her current items - was v tempted :)

I'm not particularly into fashion designers either. But I did see some of the baby punk items on sale in the millenium gallery and was tempted to buy one for little Ouija.

I went along a few weeks ago with a group of friends that used to fashion designers in London and their hangers on and was suitable impressed with the exhibition if not the price to get in. It however had nothing on the Beat Goes On exhibition I saw in Liverpool last month on music/ bands from Liverpool from the 40's to the present day. I was disappointed with the Slavery museum there though they could have learned a thing or two about how to display items from the former. To say I did my thesis on Racism and Slavery I found it very underwhelming.

I found the exhibition a bit disappointing. Obviously the clothes were amazing but I thought they could have been displayed a lot better. When the labels are telling you about the detail on the clothes and then you can't even get round the back to see. I thought it could've been laid out in a different way so that viewing things properly was possible.

I still wanted absolutely everything there though...must remember to buy a lottery ticket....!!

roughly how long does it take to get round? I really want to go to this and just haven't got there yet, but can't get there till about an hour before closing this week, will that be long enough do you think?

you could get round in an hour easily!

i went last month and it wasnt as big an exhibition as i imagined, but then theres always some things that grab more attention than others so your time will be split according to your personal taste.

your challenge, should you go, is to work out which bit was my favourite! :P:hihi:
