I drink tap water at home, but I drink bottled at work, mainly cus they have those big bottle's and I just fill a cup up and bingo... water!

why bother buying bottled water for home if you can get it out the tap for basically nowt?

Either way has to be cold

Tap, unless you're in Weatherspoons who will refuse to give you water

Ours is always cold as it comes straight from the mains (no cold water tank).

The joy of living with parents, food given to you at dinner time, clothes automatically washed, dried and ironed. Bedding changed.

*sigh* why did I ever move out

Bottled water...how pretentious. Remind me to go and buy some cylinders of air before I go out.
And why does it have a sell by date

Tap water- mainly because it would cost me a fortune if I bought 3 to 4 litres of bottled water every day:(

Tap water in Sheffield, but not in other parts of the country where it tasted vile (like in London).

01-04-2005, 16:06
Tap water but when I used to go to Kent every other week had to buy water because it tasted vile and when my son was a baby we had to mix his bottles up with bottled because the tap water gave him the squits even when it was boiled but he was ok with the water up here.

LOL I agree, the further north you get the better the water tastes :D Tap water is just as good as bottled but only if its freezing cold!

Hands up - all those who bought Dansani (or Peckham Spring Water as was revealed). LOL
I'll drink bottled water but never buy it - except when on holiday in certain countries.

Haven't drunk tapwater for a number of years now, I know :loopy:

Buy packs of four 2litre bottles every few days from Tesco, tap water always seems a murky brown to me, unless I'm drinking out of the bog when Im hammered :suspect:

I agree with Nick2 about Sheffield water tasting better than London (or Essex) water. I voted for tap water though as whereever I am - I don't see the point in paying for bottled water if I have a choice.

I buy a bottle every 3-4 weeks (2ltr) and fill it up from the tap and chill it. Our water comes out kind of bubbly from the tap, so its a lot nicer when its cold!

Tap water for me - a thousandth of the price and production subject to stringent quality checks - tested several times daily unlike in most bottled water plants :gag:

Bottled water. Comes in different flavours (lemon & lime is my favourite) and has lots of refreshing bubbles. Best served chilled.

But ..... did anyone see that press report about bottled flavoured water containing more calories than a Mars bar? May have to go back to tap water if I want to lose weight! .

Although I am sure the bottled water industry would have us believe otherwise ... tap water is safe to drink thought isn't it !?

They are.

But knowing that fact doesn't make me feel any better when I'm thirsty. (Before anyone suggests it, no I don't think I could take on the UK's biggest pub chain)

And back on topic - anyone else noticed how on most bottles of water they print 'Do not refill'? I've been refilling bottles for many years and nothing bad's happened yet ;)

Just spent 2 weeks drinking tap water - just north of the 'Highland Spring' bottling plant :D

We filter the tap water at home in Sheffield :(

It's definitely safer than bottled water....unless you lived in camelford that is....

Its got to be slightly sparkling bottled water - I drink loads of it.
Otherwise tap water and just keep it in the fridge cos it tastes better really cold.

Phan - forgot about Camelford...not sure if it had any LT effects though.

*goes off to check that the bottles Ive got arent from Camelford but I think that happened in the 80s*

I do buy bottled water, but in Sheffield the water is very good.

No real need to Britta filter in our area as no limescale etc. Not so sure on the policy of no flouride as it doesn't help prevent tooth decay, I know the dentists don't approve. Don't know enough about it to say if we should have flouride.

Tap water because I have nightmares about mountains of empty plastic bottles sat in landfills.

I never used to drink water. The tap water is nasty and hard down here. I take bottles to work.

I'll only buy bottled water in an extreme pinch. I always fill a 2l bottle and my sports bottle with water from home and take it to work as the water tastes foul - I pay my rates, the water here tastes good, why buy it in?

There is a lot of local suspicion that the aluminium poisoning incident has led to an outbreak (if that's the right word) of a degenerative brain disease similar to Alzheimer's, that could be responsible for up to 20 deaths in the Camelford area to date, and who knows how many in the future...

Needless to say there has been no investigation - don't take your tap water for granted people!
(I still drink it though, and sometimes get brought free Buxton spring water out of the fountain in the town).

Tap. It wouldn't even cross my mind to buy bottled water when I've got perfectly good running water.

My city's tap water repeatedly wins quality awards, so I have no problem drinking stuff straight from the faucet. I only buy bottled water for the sake of last-minute convenience -- it's cold and in a container -- when I'm going to a clogging performance, taking the dogs for a hike or something like that.

At work (in a small, rural town), the water is terrible but we have water coolers. I drink that during the day.

:O You get charged for water? wtf?

any ways, look north did a thing on this a couple of weeks ago, and took some bottled water, and some tap water to the streets and did taste tests, 99% of people preferred the tap water...
