So who else is going to be going through the demoralising task of trying to get Glastonbury tickets on Sunday morning? Oh the joy of trying to connect to an overladen website while listening to the constant engaged sound in your ear - great, can't wait.

I'm sure I'll think it was all worthwhile when I'm up to my face in mud listening to the delightful sounds of Kylie and enjoying the mesmerising effects of pear cider...

Yup, I'll be up trying to get a ticket. Don't even know if any of my friends are going to be going yet. Thought I'd get a ticket anyway as last year I didn't try thinking I'd be on my own, only to find out that about 6 of my mates managed to get tickets.

I'm also planning on being very hung over on Sunday morning so it's going to be lots of fun. :)

Last year i won tickets. its much easier. I'll try again this year!
I did do my stint tho, 8 hours on the phone to no avail. :(

Allegedly more bandwidth, more agents, bigger voice capacity, and now on a sunday to avoid normal business network capacity.

We will see!!

We managed to get an alternative phone number last year that worked pretty quickly, only a couple of hours, don't think it'll work this year though. There's talk of them fixing the system this year so the website won't collapse and there's tons more phone operators, but I'm not holding out a lot of hope.

don't you have to name a person for each ticket and need photo ID this year? or was that just a rumour?

not planning on going myself, still deciding whether to go to Download festival or not... money is always the main issue with festivals :(

Yes, you can only order a maximum of 2 tickets and must give names at the time. Photo ID will be required which can be arranged from the Glasto site free of charge.

Yeah, you do need photo ID, a driving licence card thing will do, wonder how the touts will get that one??

I'd love to go to Download too but it's all starts to get pretty expensive. Leeds looks OK too, I'd have to sell a lung to go to all 3 though!

I tried to get tickets for glastonbury in 2003.. and failed.. so instead i went and worked for Oxfam, it was great!! the shifts were rubbish though 4am start! utter hell but you can always see one stage from where your working and at 2pm my shift was over (which i was glad about because i think i had heat stroke), but you get to go for free because if you completed your 3 shifts (you go on the tuesday before the weekend) then you get your £100 deposit back! im going to do it next year, too busy this time around..(if its on next yr that is!).

Yeah they leave it fallow for a year every now and then, and also so eavis and his wife can have a holiday.

I have my alarm set. Last year I failed to get tickets after saving all year (i quit smoking and it was supposed to be my treat). So this year I'm pretending I hate the whole thing and dont really want to go anyway, whilst inside I'm secretly praying!

Don't give up. Last year cause of all the muck ups they realeased a few hundred tickets after the cancellation date in May. Its not much, but there is still some hope.

Keep your eye on the glasto msg boards.

Oh dear, sorry to hear you didn't manage to get any tickets anne, can't believe it sold out in less than 3 hours.

Well done to those who did manage to get tickets, now we just have a few months to perfect the anti-rain dance!

Still haven't got email confirmation so I can't completely relax yet.

I was just looking on the efestivals forum and not many people seem to have recieved an email yet, there's only mild panic going on. Guess it's a lot of orders to process in a few hours, fingers crossed.

this is quite dull.... are there any pubs with broadband? the bbq is looking a bit dodgy

we couldn't get tickets ourselves, but our mates with broadband got straight through 5 times so we have our tickets courtesy of them! the only way round the photo id thing for touts that i could see was if they 'pre-sold' tickets by trying to guarantee customers they'd get them and taking their names/addresses in advance to enter into the form - bit risky though! i wouldn't pay someone in advance in the hope they got me a ticket, lol
