I have just seen a large cigar shaped object, red in colour hovering above the shops in Fir Vale . . . has anyone else seen this? It stayed for a few seconds and then flew off at a very fast speed towards Wincobank.

This is not an Aprils Fool - I just want to know if anyone else has spotted this weird thing. It was reddish in colour and humming very loudly!:o

Me and the missus saw something weird in the sky coming home from The Games tonight- moving very quickly in the sky.. was not a plane though... very weird indeed!

Was it like a glowing red colour? . . and moving unlike an aeroplane? . . it came down quite low before actually speeding off towards Wincobank.

I've just got back from taking the dog for a walk, I live out towards Stocksbridge, and i've seen the exact same shape over the Crags!

I thought it was just another plane on its way to manchester airport, but then the red lights came on around the underside, and it zipped over the top of the woods, i've never seen anything move like it!

Jeez, glad I had rupert :blush: with me! I nearly cacked mesen!

Im sure this will be on the main news tommorrow, as loads of people seem to have seen it - the weird thing is it has been zipping around from place to place in a matter of minutes!

When I was younger I thought I'd seen something like it before but never mentioned it to anyone. I wonder if this is their second trip back - if it's what I'm thinking it is :o :help:

Now that really is freaky, because when I was a kid, I went to pick my sister up from brownies one night, and I swear to this day I saw a ufo, obviously i've never really mentioned it, but it was weird to say the least, different to this one though, this had a more menacing feel to it, stealth like I guess.

I wonder if its going to be hushed up or actually get on the news?

Theres been too many sightings Kristian for it not to be real. I saw it with my own eyes hovering in the sky before jetting off at super speed.

well i can say this is no joke..

i was just on the phone to me mate when she told me look out of the window towards the genral hospital.

i thort hear we go this is a joke,but no i saw it a bright red light that hoverd over for a wile then just shot off..

It was about 10 minutes since I saw it, just as I was getting back, it went over the crags towards grenoside/parson cross way

im at walkley too, was in the bedroom drying my hair, and i thought i saw something out of the corner of my eye, the view is out towards parkwood springs, boyfriend thinks ive drank too much red wine lol, obviousley ive not, (must drink more)

PMSL! I know kristian, I was wondering if it was worth mentioning the ufo after the other stories . . . obviously, I wasn't the only one.

The weird thing is now though, everytime I think I hear a slow humming noise, I run to the window to look.

I hope someones got photo's of it, bound to be after all the sightings.

well I didn't get any, it was just a matter of seconds, I wouldn't have had time to get my phone out to take em even if i'd thought about it.

It might be worth contacting the Northern General or something, if theres been sightings near there, there will be quite alot of people around that area who may have seen it also surely?

Does anyone think it might be aliens? . . . It's the strangest thing I've seen in years. The humming noise it makes is quite hypnotic and when you look up and see the red glow you can't do anything but stare until it flies off and then it go's all deathly silent.

I remember the first time I ever saw those laser lights that they shone into the sky, when Don Valley first opened. I have never sh*t myself as much! I honestly HONESTLY thought it was a UFO, and when my mate started curiously walking towards it, I thought she's been brought under their power!

I couldn't really hear anything over the dog barking to be honest, he went a bit doolally to say the least, they pick up on these things though, he's awlays very defensive when out with me at night.

I just heard this humming over my house just past Chapeltown heading north. I looked out the window to see my entire street be light up by a red glow, it pulsed once ot twice then the humm ing began again.

it was only then i thought to look up, as somehting blurred bast my sight flying low above me out across towards wentworth, the red light pulsing every so often bright enough i could see th efield below it.

Anyone else seen it heading north? I gotta go get a drink.

Could it be a blimp? (you know a small airship). They are often used for filming sports events, perhaps it had been doing this for some track events at Don Valley for "The Games"?

It therefore would have moved slowly unlike a conventional aircraft and may well have had some low level lighting across its sides. Perhaps on its way back to whereever it is based.

The "humming" noise some people reported would have been the relatively small externally mounted engine fans.

Seems to add up!

I've just been up to the top of the hill in Arbourthorne. There's low cloud, but rain has now stopped. No sighting of cigar shaped UFO. If BoroughGal is still at work - did you see me waving to you? Or did you miss that as well?

that still doesnt explian how it got from Stocksbridge to Parsons Cross in less than 15 minutes.

I didn't hear any noise and it's gone from my FOV.

Don't see why not. I think they can travel at up to 30-40mph. Not fast, but fast enough for tha distance in 15mins surely?

Sorry to disappoint folks. The airforce at RAF Scampwell, Lincs is testing new weather drone. This is being tested over numerous cities and towns to test for cumulonimbus (CB's) clouds at lower levels. These types of clouds can be very dangerous to aviation, ie thunderstorms / windsheer and have started developing at lower levels due to global warming.

There are about 50 of these unmanned drones operating nationwide and are all NOTAMed (official warning to airmen bulletin) so there are no UFO's today apparently.

So Licolnshire drones are hovering just hundreds of feet above Sheffield!? BTW this didn't look like a drone at all, the way it was moving it looked like it was being manned and do drones normally fly at such speed so accurately in different directions??

If it was - as you say 'a Drone' then it will have collected all the information Lincs needs for South yorkshire in a few hours!

As the Commander of the UFO most of you saw, may I reassure you that my crew and I mean you no harm. We have travelled many light years and have instructions to find, capture and examine Barmpots. We came down among you and stayed a while, hoping to catch one or two of you on your own, but alas our quest was useless. It is, however, obvious that Sheffield has a higher percentage of Barmpots than any other city, so I will be back. Watch for me at your peril! We can spot Barmpots miles away — even those disguised as Forum Posters.
