My OH Cooked up:

Lemon Sole Florentine for a starter, followed by an Oxtail Stew and New tatties plus veg, dessert was a jelly but with a twist, followed by cheese, biscuits, port, brandy,
coffee and a few sweet pastries , and party games in between, that is all I know.

Theres a few clips availabe on CH4 Web page, Tram love and Deer Hunter if you all want a preview, the producers have told all who took part that this is the best show they have ever recorded, but of course it features real Sheffield people, by the way my OH is bricking it as the day draws near.

I thought the whole programme was great, such fantastic characters. I thought Suzanne was lovely not in the least like a bloke and she was so kind and generous about everyone else. Great show and Hazel a real winner.

I caught a bit of this last night. What on earth were they wearing? Hazel had some sort of ballgown on and the other woman had a plunge dress on which drew your eyes to her wrinkly chest! Shudder!

I was also taken in by Hazel's wallpaper. It was especially horrific in the kitchen where it clashed in colour and in pattern with her curtains. The living room was no better and the bedroom was scary!

Last nights edition was the best ever. I've watched this programme since it started in the afternoons and never has there been such a good edition. All the food cooked looked scrummy and all the contestants were really nice people who weren't being nasty to each other.

I think Hazel did deserve to win and I'd love it if she'd let her hubby put her recipe for the oxtail stew on here so we can all try it.

Well done Sheffielders:love:

Thanks for your comments, I'm very proud of Hazel, she is a wonderful lady and did well to win, the standard of the food prepared by everyone was very high, which made it tough, I'm going to have a go at Chris's curry which looked amazing, by the way all the recipes should now be on CH4 Web page.

Oxtail Stew - 1 tbsp sunflower oil, 2 1/2 pound oxtail, 1 oz plain flour, 1 1/2 pints beef stock, 2 large onions sliced, 1 tbspn tomato puree, 1 tbsp chopped parsley, 1 tbsp chopped fresh thyme, 1 bay leaf, salt and black pepper, 8 celery stalks thickly sliced.

1. Heat oil in a large saucepan, add the oxtail and cook over a high heat until browned all over, remove oxtail and drain on paper towels.

2. Add the flour to saucepan and cook stirring occasionally, for about 1 minute, blend in the beef stock and bring to the boil, stir until sauce has thickened.

3. Return the oxtail to the pan, add the onions, tomato puree, parsley, thyme, bay leaf and salt/pepper to taste. Cover and simmer gently for 2 hours.

4. Add celery and cook for another 1 to 2 hours or until the meat falls from the bones, skim any fat from the top of the stew, then taste for seasoning. Enjoy

Best cooked the day before, with remaining sauce thin down add a few more vegetables for oxtail soup.
