Does anybody know where I can buy these in the Sheffield (SE) area? Apparently they are all the rage at the moment and many shops are sold out.
:help:

They were all the rage 28 years ago too

I had a box featuring yachts as I remember

Excuse my ignorance, but what is a trump card? I had visions of people trumping and then those in the immediate vicinity holding up a trump card to indicate its depth, volume, viscosity, etc. But then Louise mentioned cards with yachts on. Were they used to indicate wind velocity?

Yep they were all the rage when I was a kid too, and my kids have some now.

Explanation of game

Say you had a set of say Cars, there would be cars with various specs......

Say
Ferrari
Top Speed 212Mph
Gears 5
BHP - Lots
and so on

Skoda
Top Speed 85MPH
Gears 6
BHP - Not much
Blah blah blah

you would then play against your partner choosing a catagory, the one with the highest spec wins the other card, winner is one with all cards.

As to where to get them Mo - any good toy shop will sell them. I bought some from Big W on Parkway.

Hope that helps

Is it just me, or do these things seem to be on an infinate cycle? The cycle seems to go something like; marbles, yo-yos, top trumps, (repeat ad-infinitum).

What's next Wombles, Clackers, Teletubbies should be back in about 5 years.

Max, don't worry I had never heard of them upto yesterday. I thought my kids were setting me up to make a plonker of myself (as if I need their help).

Seems that they are the current 'must have' in the playground. Everywhere I've been has been sold out.

I used to love them when I was a kid. I had the fighter jets one and a set to do with cars as well. Used to play allsorts though, my favourite set was a super hero one, where the Silver Surfer kicked everyone’s ass (apart from one figure)! Oh the memories.

Thats the point of the game :). Remembering the top scores and where the good scores are allow you to plot your percentages and hence allow you to win. Its a great game for kids for that reason I think, bit of mental exercise over the long summer holiday.
