View Full Version : Top Trump Cards Mo 02-10-2003, 13:59 Does anybody know where I can buy these in the Sheffield (SE) area? Apparently they are all the rage at the moment and many shops are sold out. :help: Belle 02-10-2003, 14:01 They were all the rage 28 years ago too I had a box featuring yachts as I remember max 02-10-2003, 14:05 Excuse my ignorance, but what is a trump card? I had visions of people trumping and then those in the immediate vicinity holding up a trump card to indicate its depth, volume, viscosity, etc. But then Louise mentioned cards with yachts on. Were they used to indicate wind velocity? Agent Orange 02-10-2003, 14:06 Have you gone back in time to the 80's or are they selling them again? :? 8) back2basics 02-10-2003, 14:07 Top trumps are GREAT! I love them, i was so happy to get my set of DJ top trumps on the front of a magazine. Not sure where to find them though. DaBouncer 02-10-2003, 14:08 I used to have top trump cards when I were a nippa. They were fab! mikey 02-10-2003, 14:11 Yep they were all the rage when I was a kid too, and my kids have some now. Explanation of game Say you had a set of say Cars, there would be cars with various specs...... Say Ferrari Top Speed 212Mph Gears 5 BHP - Lots and so on Skoda Top Speed 85MPH Gears 6 BHP - Not much Blah blah blah you would then play against your partner choosing a catagory, the one with the highest spec wins the other card, winner is one with all cards. As to where to get them Mo - any good toy shop will sell them. I bought some from Big W on Parkway. Hope that helps Sidla 02-10-2003, 14:16 Is it just me, or do these things seem to be on an infinate cycle? The cycle seems to go something like; marbles, yo-yos, top trumps, (repeat ad-infinitum). The Farrari used to win every time! Thunzi 14-08-2006, 23:12 we buy ours at WH Smith, the only trouble with our kids is that they memerise all the best cards, takes all the fun outa it Thats the point of the game :). Remembering the top scores and where the good scores are allow you to plot your percentages and hence allow you to win. Its a great game for kids for that reason I think, bit of mental exercise over the long summer holiday. |
