My own fault, downloaded a 'goody' on Limewire and it turned out to be a baddy (even though I ran A-squared and AVG on it before unzipping)

I've run up to date versions of:

Spybot, Spywareblaster, A-squared and Spyware Terminator, but nothing detected it.

Can't see it using Explorer although I haven't looked in depth.

Any help appreciated :)

Have you tried Adaware? That's worth a go.

'hijack this' might do it.

Daft question, but don't youy have google toolbar with pop up blocker? Never had a nasty pop up yet, "touch wood"
Limewire usually tells you if there is anything dodgey and just to make sure I always virus scan whatever I download before I open it.

I don't use google toolbar for blocking pop ups, FireFox browser blocks them very effectively.

I checked the download using up to date AVG and A-squared/spybot virus/anti malware software before unzipping and nothing was found.

In my limited experience with limewire, most downloaded zips when checked with anti malware software have proven to have trojans and more and therefore remained unzipped and deleted!

If you Google 'Adzgalore' you will find a lot of people struggling with this little bugger :(

Hope the dog fitted the bed ;)

I've had Limewire Pro for about 3 years now but to be honest I only use it for music tracks that I used to have on vinyl. Any programs or films usually are corrupt as more recently people seem to enjoy posting "little surprises" on it. Limewire is nearly as bad as Kazaa now.
Ps Draggletail, Buster says the bed is very nice thank you. :)

Oh, I was greedy and downloaded something I should have been paying for :suspect:
Serves me right, and stands as a warning to others not to do the same! :nono:
Glad Buster's sleeping soundly :)
