hi all

i have just put sp3 on my pc and it has messed up my display settings

when i go to theme and select one i get the old windows 98 style toolbar instead of my black windows toolbar that i had before

can anyone help??

Funny you should say that, I'm having exactly the same problem :( , using Style Xp

lol - have you two not seen the numerous reports that SP3 is as buggy as hell.

It seems to have particular problems with some AMD processors (although it's down to the OEM's disk image at the root of the problem).

My recommendation is turn off all the cartoon rubbish and use the win98 theme, it's much cleaner and more usable than the xp or vista themes, but I doubt that advice really helps.

I'm not running a AMD, it's a pentium 4

If you were using a custom theme, the system file uxtheme.dll version numbers change in SP3, so any editing of that (which allows you to use non Windows based theme, which most "style" editors use) will have been replaced. Solution: Google : UXtheme multipatch and download that. Will fix the problem.
