I work there at the mo!!! It was meant to be a time filler until I decide what I want to do. It's pretty dull and the days drag to say the least! But hey, it pays the bills (just about)

not forgetting they laid off loads of experienced staff recently, Hmm what are the redundancy deals for new employees these days?

I think that alot of the ppl they have made redundant opted for that. I'd prob only get 50p if I was made redundant lol. The lower down u r, the safer u r.

I worked there for 6 years and moaned / "hated it" the whole time. I left earlier this year & it was definitely a good decision. That said - I wouldn't have stayed 6 years if it was that bad would I and I definitely got some transferable skills. It's like anywhere - depending on your management & your actual job & whether you enjoy what you're doing, is ultimately what will make it a good or bad experience.
8% non contributory pension though, can't be bad.

Now excuse me whilst I go pick the splinters out me bum (from sitting on the fence)

there are a couple of NU's in sheffield and company benefits aren't bad. The smaller one is healthcare and is nice to work for, the larger pomona has many more departments and have heard mixed comments.

I worked for NU in York for a while. I enjoyed it but I managed to carve out a bit of an interesting position with a little help and luck. I didn't think much of the pay but I suppose that it could be different in Sheffield..

I temped for NU Healthcare for 4 months as a filler after uni.

Morale seemed very low in my team and I was given a great deal of responsibility considered I was just a temp, ie training and managing the work load of other temps that started after me. They also seemed to be very relucant to allow staff to be promoted.
However, the place I worked (old infirmary on Infirmary Road by Tesco) was lovely and they often put on free nights out for staff. But you were just one of the herd there, it was very impersonal.

Unfortunately I work at NU now, started in Healthcare, now in Life Insurance, depends what you want to do, if you have ambitions stay away unless its a stop gap job, its no career put it that way, im waiting to go freelance in design so until i do it pays the bills i guess.

I would look everywhere else but there. I say that because I work there at the min and in desperation to find something else. Its easy the worst paid and most boring job I have ever had. Moneys a bit poo too!

Their website is showing no jobs in Sheffield.

What's new eh?

For what it's worth I wouldn't mind swapping out of my job in the Council into Nationwide. It cannot be worse than where I am, it really cannot.

I work at Aviva & I think it is a really good company. I have worked at Capita as well and Aviva is by far a better company to work at. I am employed by an agency and I would love to be taken on permenatly by Aviva I like it that much.

Thats the one I worked at a couple of years ago until I got made redundant. The few ppl who got jobs in other depts got made redundant soon after me. It was an ok job for a 19yr old just out of college but it was soooooo monotanous at times. And from what I hear they have a habit of making ppl redundant.
