View Full Version : Hardest fish to catch dan_mitch1 31-03-2005, 10:36 which do you think is the hardest fish to catch???? bream tench grass carp pike leather carp catfish nick2 31-03-2005, 10:38 I think it depends on whether the fish is thrown over or under-arm owdlad 31-03-2005, 10:43 Magic answer nick2  However I think it's not the one dan was looking for. Dan a lot depends on if they are wild fish, or those tame things that are put into a muddy puddle in such numbers that it's impossible not to catch them. A wild Tench has to be amongst the hardest to catch. and is certainly IMHO one of the best looking fish. dan_mitch1 31-03-2005, 10:45 ive only ever caught 1 tench that was on a small telescopic rod but a long time after that i waa fishing a pond at the side of the weeds and you could see them taking the bait but i couldnt hook them but when i did hook 1 it got off after fighting at for a few minutes eddies32 31-03-2005, 11:23 Barble on a river are difficult to land, very strong fish vidster 31-03-2005, 17:45 Originally posted by eddies32 Barble on a river are difficult to land, very strong fish Agreed  Although Grayling can be pretty hard to catch too. Go to virtually any of the ponds in Sheffield and you will catch Tench easily ;). My favourite pond for Tench has to be Frecheville. They go up to about 5lb and i have regularly had 25+ bag's of Tench in just a few hours from there :). Lickszz 31-03-2005, 18:52 What do you mean by hardest to catch? Do you mean the best fighter or the rarest? dan_mitch1 01-04-2005, 12:13 the 1 that u think is the hardest to land or even hook Lickszz 01-04-2005, 17:04 Zander Grayling Barble dan_mitch1 02-04-2005, 18:36 i forgot to add then lol viking 02-04-2005, 18:57 Tench are lovely lookers, however they have a texture and slimy consistency only seen down Jordans undercrackers. I had a tench that weighed 3Lb 2oz at westwood, however before i landed it it broke my line and swam off. vidster 02-04-2005, 19:34 Originally posted by viking Tench are lovely lookers, however they have a texture and slimy consistency only seen down Jordans undercrackers. How'd you know it weighed 3lb 2oz then :suspect: The slime on the Tench (or Tinca) was used by people years a go for it's healing qualities. Not sure i'd like to be rubbing fish slime in to a wound though :gag: viking 03-04-2005, 08:31 Originally posted by vidster How'd you know it weighed 3lb 2oz then :suspect: Because it had Scales on it's back. :hihi: :hihi: vidster 03-04-2005, 13:06 Originally posted by viking Because it had Scales on it's back. :hihi: :hihi: I can't believe i fell for that  dan_mitch1 03-04-2005, 14:27 hahahaha that was funny lol |
