HI,

I was wondering if anyone had any experience of using a laptop cooling fan/pad?

I'm trying to find a way to stop mine getting so hot, i'm using a TV dinner tray thing at present to let some air get underneath, but it's still burning hot.

Any ideas?

Or if anyone could point me in the right direction for good ideas in general about lappy maintainence i'd be chuffed :D

I find that leaving it in the freezer for an hour or two allows me to get through Emmerdale without it scalding my knees!







Nurse! The screens!

I have a piece of corrugated card (approx 15mm thick)on my lap. It's the same width as the laptop and about 8" wider. This gives me a platform to use my mouse ;).

I also altered the settings in my bios. I set them for maximum battery life and this slowed down the processor. The laptop is slower but the fan hardly ever comes on and it stays pretty cool as well.

I thought it was a joke.
I have always noticed that laptops get hot but I've always had them on a desk.
