View Full Version : Blades - Who would you sell / buy for next season?
Blade1983 07-05-2008, 15:04 Personally i'd sell / get rid of:
Lucketti
Stead
Gillespie
Shelton
Monty
Hendrie (permenant)
A Quinn (permenant)
maybe also; Webber, Tonge, Hulse (depending on who we could line up to bring in).
Not sure who I'd try and bring in....
Cotterill is one who for sure we should try and keep
Howard from Barnsley?
Think we'd also need another winger... saw Campbell-Ryce play for Barnsley a couple of times (granted in the cup) but he looks quick and very tricky.
We'd also need a decent striker if we got rid of the above.
You're views?
SteveBlade 07-05-2008, 15:43 Think we need a Centre Back. How about Beevers? :hihi:

Don't be silly - you only ever sign our rejects. :hihi:

we've had the best out of them , you can have them back . oh you couldn't even afford them on a free transfer .

No thanks, they took us down and did the same with you.
bladesufc1 08-05-2008, 07:25 Listening to McCabe on the Radio and the Website, looks more like who'll we'll bring in from our feeder clubs, that man has some reall vision, still need a director of football to get the final bit of the iceing on the cake, he'll be in charge of making sure all the clubs we own have the same training methods and style of play, that way it'll be easier for the new arrivals to fit in to the english game.
cant wait for the next 2-3 seasons

So you're another "fan" who takes interest when a team is going down and not when a team is going up?
Understandable that you'd be an Owl then.
Blade1983 08-05-2008, 08:55 come on - let's not let the little piggies de-rail the thread.

Good idea,
BTW, Quinn has already gone on permanent deal fella.
I've put my list on who I think should go elsewhere, but here it is again
Seck
Shelton
Hulse
Carney
Tonge
Keef
Lucki
Ehiogu
Gerrard
Horsfield out of contract
I'd look to bring in, Darren Purse, Brian Howard, David Cotterill and Robbie Earnshaw IF we sold Webber.

Forgot about people like Seck - he certainly needs shedding.
Think I'd agree with your IN & OUT list there. Earnshaw would be a great signing if we got rid of Webber, Stead & Shelton cus we'd still need a fast striker.
Ousetunes 08-05-2008, 10:13 United are being linked to Norwich's Darren Huckerby and I think he would be a great signing.
Him and Beattie would work well together and he is a player I have always admired.

he was a great player 5 seasons ago - he's f*ing useless now!
Robbie Loving 08-05-2008, 10:26 he was a great player 5 seasons ago - he's f*ing useless now!
I agree in principal, but he is still dangerous at times.
For me Huckerby would be a bit part player only on high wages, so for that reason he would be a no go from me.
Robbie Loving 09-05-2008, 10:40 Well the exodus from the Lane has started with reports of Gerrard, Li Tie and Horsfield leaving. Slavkovski returning home and Seck being told he can leave.
Horsefield & Gerrard told they can leave in the summer but other players are told they are in Blackwell's plans for next season. Also Man Utd release Danny Simpson, Lee Martin and Chris Eagles,I would love it if we could get Eagles & Martin don't know much about Simpson.
Blackwell has added Darren Huckerby – freed by Norwich – to a list of left-side targets including Plymouth's Peter Halmosi and Blackpool's Wes Hoolahan
Robbie Loving 09-05-2008, 12:16 Where's it mentioned about Eagles/Simpson/Martin?
I find it hard to believe that they have A) been released and B) at this point before the season has even finished.
Where's it mentioned about Eagles/Simpson/Martin?
In the Daily Mirror & a few other papers.
Robbie Loving 09-05-2008, 12:28 Only think I could find is this
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/manchester-united/2008/05/09/fergie-puts-his-faith-in-fraizer-campbell-89520-20411474/
Sir Alex Ferguson has told striker Fraizer Campbell he will be in his first-team squad next term after his goalscoring heroics on loan at Hull City.
And that means Campbell could well play Champions League football next term.
However, Danny Simpson, Lee Martin and Chris Eagles could all leave United.
All 3 may well leave, HOWEVER they will be going only if United receive for them in my opinion, United aren't a charity and all 3 are decent players.
Well I think Eagles is a good player worth about £2m ,Martin about £1m,Eagles played in a couple of MU early CL matches but has not been seen since, with Ronaldo ,Hargreaves ,Carrick,Anderson & Nani I cannot see them getting a sniff in the first team.
