Trying to have a convo on MSN with someone, but the sodding thing keeps dropping out!

Is MSN Messenger service experiencing any technical glitches today?

It's green on their status page http://messenger.msn.com/Status.aspx Might be a connection issue at either end?

edit: Carl can type quicker than me :)

It could be an ISP problem Rich.

Mine does that constantly. It gets so bad at times that I rarely use it now.

I've been telling Dad ever since he got it that Sky Broadband is crap, but it's free and serves his purpose he says, so he won't change providers.

A few years back when I was on Virgin (ADSL) I had a similar problem...they always blamed it on my BT line - Rubbish!!!

A girl at work (on Talk Talk) is having exactly the same problems on MSN

Sky is crap!!

i've now selected to stop my MSN from signing in on reboot. My 6000x2 with 4gb of DDR800 simply hangs and hangs and hangs for about 5 mins while MSN decides to fire up. I select MSN not to auto sign in and the PC is on in 30 seconds.

MSN also when someone gives me a nudge, it makes my web pages lock up until i type something back.

MSN is at time worst application i currently have on this PC so at times it's only on for 10mins a day.

delete it and install one of the many (Better coded) alternatives; Trillian, Pidgin, aMSN, to name a couple

aMSN and Pidgin are what I use. Both are excellent alternative programs to MSN
