Hello, I've been lurking on this part of the forum for a while now, I'm trying to get into photography. I've recently been away doing charity work in Uganda and want to make a photo album/scrapbook of all my experiences.

While I was away I tried to make a panoramic in 3 shots and spurred on by RPG's Peace Gardens Panoramic and the suggestion of using Autostitch I had a go but it only stitched two shots and said there were no image matches for the third :(

Is there anything I can do to make the third pic more 'stitchable' or would some different software do the job?

Also, if its me taking the pictures incorrectly for a panoramic if anyone has any tips on getting it right I would really appreciate it. I basically took them all from the same spot in succession trying to have a bit of overlap between them.

Thanks in advance!

Hi

Might be an idea to post links to the 3 images - may give us an idea why its not working. Generally, a decent amount of overlap like you say you have and keeping the horizon the same in all 3 should do the trick from what I understand :)

Here are the pics from left to right, pics 1 and 2 will stitch, but 2 and 3 wont.

Pic 1 (http://photos-c.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v234/230/34/516445625/n516445625_2922602_6297.jpg)

Pic 2 (http://photos-b.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v234/230/34/516445625/n516445625_2922601_6040.jpg)

Pic3 (http://photos-a.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-sf2p/v234/230/34/516445625/n516445625_2922600_5709.jpg)

Any help much appreciated, also, I know the images have come out quite dark (there was a storm coming!), but I guess that's better to adjust when they are merged?

I had a go using Autopano and the elements needed are there:

Can't answer why you're having problems.

Thanks GazE! Dunno why it didn't work with the other software. That's brilliant though! :D

For autostitch to work it needs about 1/6 overlap on all images I've found.

Glad it worked in something in the end though :)
