View Full Version : Does Anyone Know Where I Can Hire A Bike? Twinkla_KayB 29-03-2005, 19:40 Im looking to hire a bike to go bikin with my boyfriend in the country - can anyone suggest where to go?? tourist 29-03-2005, 19:57 They hire bikes up at Ladybower/ Howden / Derwent reservoirs. Good place for easy ride alongside the water, or you can go off road a bit as well. Also, I can't remember the name but there is a disused railway that starts near Matlock, you can hire bikes there. jackthedog 30-03-2005, 12:00 There is a bike hire place at Fairholmes, at Derwent Reservior, there is one in Hope Village in the Hope Valley, and on the Tissington Trail. Happy pedalling! fierysatsuma 10-05-2005, 18:34 Does anyone know of anywhere where we can hire bikes for a ride out in Derbyshire/peak district area - somewhere we can park car up and ride out for a couple of hours or so. Also, would be a distinct advantage if they did bikes with the trail attachment (a wheel and a seat that clamps to an adult bike for child to sit on). Many thanks Matt john t 10-05-2005, 18:45 You should got to Fairholmnes, just off the a57 near to Ladybower. There is also a cycle hire centre at Carsington Reservoir, north of Ashbourne and cycle trails around the reservoir. redrobbo 10-05-2005, 20:12 You can hire bikes from the following places - Middleton Top Engine House, Middleton-by-Wirksworth* Parsley Hay* Tissington Trail* Fairholmes, (turn off A57 at Ladybower reservoir) * All on the High Peak/Tissington Trail network of foothpath and cycle ways. All bookable in advance - but, sorry, don't have a current leaflet with me with tel. nos. |
