Are you using the latest drivers for your graphics card or in the case of inbedded graphics the latest motherboard drivers. Also what is the colour setting on. Also how big is the monitor?

You dont have anything to lose JR. Run it and see if it makes a difference, it may have more options than you currently have. If your using XP I would make a system restore point just to be on the safe side. Good luck

Even the default drivers in windows xp should let you get more than that. Have a look at possible restrictions put down by your monitor. If it's a rubbish one then it might be the limiting factor.

Right then.

The driver disc hasn't done anything. I'm on Win 98 and the monitor is a HP Pavilion mx70. All i want to do is to make my game look smaller on the screen because at the moment I can only see half of it.

Sorry if this sound silly JamesRich but have you actually tried changing the screen resolution in the properties?.

Right click on any empty part of your screen. Select 'properties'. Now select 'settings'. In the box where it says 'screen resolution', click on the slider bar (keep holding the button down) and slide it all the way to the right. You might be asked to reboot your computer.

Let us know if it worked ;)

If you've updated the monitor drivers/ graphics drivers and adjusted the settings, there really isn't anything else i can think of.

Is it an old monitor?. I haven't come across one that wouldn't go any bigger than that :?.

That monitor should support 1280 x 1024 resolution. What is the colour quality set to JR ?
