Here we go again, the stream of unwanted dogs is never ending, but you never know one may find a home from this site.

Just taken into gsd welfare - 2 male gsds aged about 4, nice temprements, waggy tails and get on ok with other dogs and one female who is 6 months currently on death row in Wales. She is hopefully having execution date stalled (due to be put to sleep Monday) until she can be collected from Wales. Obviously dont know anything about the temprement of the 6 month old bitch till she comes in.

I am away for the weekend but please pm me if you or any other dog lover can give a permanent loving home.

Many thanks
Avril

Isn't it heartbreaking? I hope that the GSD's find some help in time.

The gsd rescue have just taken one from the sheffield kennels - and another one from Wakefield.

However, they are - as always - fit to burst with so many being dumped all the time.
I just wish the people that were breeding them all were forced to donate some money towards the upkeep and welfare of dogs that are at this end of the scale.

When you see all the 'gsd lovers' at crufts - breeding for the next champion - i wonder how many out of the litters end up in rescue - and if any of them ever donate to a gsd rescue 'just in case'.
Sadly this breed struggles along with the staffy's and the rotties' and the gsd's do terrible in kennels - as they are such a loyal breed - that forever loves and misses its master.

Well done for helping Estewyn.

it's heartbreaking - everytime I hear things like this I try to think if I could fit another one in here but it's just not an option, sadly, not til my numbers come up... I really hope people come forward to help these poor dogs - such a waste of life to be dumped and destroyed so young

I do the same katkin, but it's just not an option for me either.

I can understand how badly GSDs do in kennels- they stick by their humans through thick and thin and it must be terribly distressing for them to be removed from that one to one attention and security.

I suspect dobes would be the same- I know my daft dobe whines if she isnt with me (she's OK when we're at work but if she knows I'm 'about' but not with her. she won't settle.
One day, when I get a bigger house...

Just to let you know the babe has been saved, a show person in Wales kept her overnight and she is going to be boarded for welfare by a breeder in Essex.

I know what you are saying Rain, but in this instance the breeder who breeds and shows top dogs winning in the ring donates kennel space to as many rescues as she can fit in. There are people out there who breed and show and also give something back where they can, if only all breeders were as responsible.

Thank you all for interest in this babe, I hope she gets a good home in the near future but at least she is safe now.

Bless
Avril
