Hi just letting you all know that i sadly lost my beloved little dog last night i had to have her put to sleep as she was suffering severe incontinence & arthuritus,she was 12yrs old.

So sorry to hear about you losing Della, she looks a lovely dog.
This is one of the hardest parts of loving an animal, the saying goodbye at the right time, I know it hurts now but in time you will smile when you think of Della and all of her little ways.

So sorry, its a really sad time. Still missing my Shadow who passed in February. At least you did not let her suffer and she will meet you in doggy heaven. xx

So sorry to hear this ,she looks just like my little harry....and unfortunately he isnt to good either he is 12 i rescued him at 6 weeks he was found in a cardboard box in rotherham. He has been a lovely dog but i fear i may be in the same position as you in the not too distant future....anyway take care and sleep tight della have fun at rainbow bridge x

Thinking of you and willing you some strength beanz. It's a hard decision to take, but you took the right decision to not put her through more pain and you have the consolation that she is not in pain any more.

I know how you feel - my childhood dog Toby passed away this Christmas at the grand old age of 17 (<<that's him) I didn't tell anyone on the forum at the time because for days I was so upset anything could set me off crying again, and I couldn't bear to read all the kind messages because anytime I was reminded he had gone I would burst into tears :cry:

But it won't always be so bad - now whenever I think of him it puts a big smile on my face because I remember all the happy times he ever had when he was younger :)

Yes it's so very sad and painful when you loose a pet. And you think you'll never be able to remember them without bursting into tears. But it does get easier, in time. And when it does, you feel glad that you shared the years you had together. Sending you a hug.

aww Della, you're a sweetheart- RIP little one - you've given your family lots of happy times and happy memories and you'll be sorely missed.

I hope Della is running in the fields and having lots of fun with my beautiful Shenagh who we lost 8 years ago, the pain is terrible at the time ( it was the first time i saw my dad tearful) we also had to make the decision to take her pain away, but i now look back on her with so much love and happiness, my husband thinks i'm a bit strange but i think a little bit of her soul is in my new dog....thinking of you xx

beans - I really am sorry that your little Della has passed away. You must be gutted to the core. She is out of pain now, and God's garden has many little friends for her to play with. God Bless Her.

Beanz - I'm so sorry Della is no longer with you, but please be assured that you did the right thing for Della, sometimes love hurts.

I know when I had to make the decision to have my wonderful cat Blaze put to sleep, I felt awful and I questioned what I had done for so long - but with the help of the wonderful people on here in the Pet Forum, I know Blaze is on Rainbow Bridge along with Della....both full of health and probably tormenting each other, like cats and dogs do.

You've got good memorie of Della and you are grasping those tighter than ever right now. You are clearly a devoted animal lover who didn't want Della to suffer anymore - my heart goes out to you.
