My beautiful Bailey is not himself, hasn't been for a few days.
And this evening he keeps rubbing his ear on the ground and then crying and hiding behind the sofa.
He was playing in thorns today, but I've had a good look in his ears and can't see anything.
Will be taking him to the vet first thing, but any advice of how I can keep him comfy this evening.
I hate seeing him so obviously unhappy :(
have you tried bathing it with warm salt water?

On closer inspection he had some grit and thorns inside his ear canal, no wonder he felt miserable.
I've removed them and bathed his ear and he seems much happier.
The slices of ham helped too. Petie puppy very kindly helped him eat it.
aww glad it's something you could sort out. Hugs to Bailey from Ailsa the daft dobermutt

How is bailey today, his he feeling any better
Bailey is feeling much better after a trip to the vet. He had quite a nasty infection deep down the ear canal - which explains why we couldn't see anything. It was bad enough to need painkillers as well as antibiotics, but he's back to his normal bouncy self now.
Any boys reading this thread should leave quickly before olliekitten tells you where she had to pull a thorny twig out of during his walk... ouch!
