My cat has decided to leave home and live a few doors away :-(
He got the hump when our new kitten came back from the vet after being speyed. Up till then they got on pretty well but since he has hardly been home.
I would like to find a behaviourist that might be able to help solve this problem but all the behaviourists I can find are either in London or only deal with dogs.
If anyone knows a behaviourist who can help with cat problems please let me know

Thanks

I know how you feel, my oldest, smudge has decided to live across the road from us, when we first got our new kitten they got on ok, but since she was spayed, he wont come home, he hisses and scratches me, wont let me near him :(

Sorry to hear this - you could contact Your Cat magazine (Bourne Publishing Group- do a google for their email address) and ask for their advice- their behaviourist is Peter Neville and he's lovely- he teaches the distance learning COAPE courses (I did one a few years back 'Man Meets Dog') and he is great with dogs and cats.

It's tricky when they leave because of a new cat or a change - the thing is, you have to make yourselves more interesting than any potential new home- and discourage the neighbour from feeding or letting your cat indoors. You could try keeping him indoors for a while until he's got used to the changes but its no guarantee he wont stay out again and make his way towards the new and more interesting neighbour...
