Hi.

I dont know if you are allowed to post links to other sites on here but I thought Id give it a go.

I have created a site on the Paranormal.

http://groups.msn.com/SheffieldParanormalGroup

The site is till under constructions but the forum and chatroom is up and running.

Whether you are a believer or a sceptic in these things but still want to find out if there is anything out there please join up.

Once there is enough members I will be organising Ghost Hunts to take place and chats with famous people who investigate the paranormal. There is also a forum up and running for you to point out your opinions, whether or not you believe there is something else out there.

Please take a look at the site and feel free to PM me if you have any questions re the site/membership/ghosthunts.

Cheers

Kirsty

do you have a dog called scooby and a girlfriend with a hair pin that can pick any lock....
One other thing..If there's somethin' strange in your neighborhood
Who ya gonna call (ghostbusters)
If it's somethin' weird an it won't look good
Who ya gonna call (ghostbusters)

I ain't afraid a no ghost
I ain't afraid a no ghost
If you're seein' things runnin' thru your head
Who can you call (ghostbusters)
An' invisible man sleepin' in your bed
Oh who ya gonna call (ghostbusters)
I ain't afraid a no ghost
I ain't afraid a no ghost
Who ya gonna call (ghostbusters)
If you're all alone pick up the phone
An call (ghostbusters)

I ain't afraid a no ghost
I hear it likes the girls
I ain't afraid a no ghost
Who you gonna call (ghostbusters)
Mm…if you've had a dose
Of a freaky ghost baby
You better call ghostbusters
Bustin' makes me feel good
I ain't afraid a no ghosts

Don't get caught alone oh no…ghostbuster
When he comes through your door
Unless you've just got some more
I think you better call ghostbusters
Ooh... who you gonna call (ghostbusters)
Who you gonna call (ghostbusters)
Ah, I think you better call (ghostbusters)

I can't hear you…(ghostbusters)
Who you gonna call (ghostbusters)
Louder ghostbusters
Who you gonna call (ghostbusters)
Who you can call ghostbusters…(till fade)

you can't post something on here without someone taking the **** or making a wise crack, its like an unwritten SF rule :?

and looks like there is already a perfectly good answer to paranormal research in Sheffield, you may struggle with your forum taking off Kirsty, but good luck anyways!

The second picture is really weird, the one with the mans face! Very spooky! The last one is weird too, the one with the orbs. I have never caught anything weird on camera. I havent even been on any ghosthunts as yet, but hope to in the future.

a friend I had take a look at it says it looks like a man in WW1 army uniform, if you look carefully you can see the shape of his whole body including hat!

have more orby pics, but not convinced they are anything paranormal, more like dust.

Kirsty_87
28-03-2005, 17:09
Yeah i could see the whole body on the pic. Very weird. I live on a school site and aparently the school is haunted, but because it is a school we cant do any investigations in there. I might have to go in and take a few pictures though to see if i can get anything on cam!

What sort of camera did you use? Was it digital or a normal film one?

Do you really think there's need for yet another paranormal group in Sheffield? From what I gather, your level of belief and general approach to the paranormal is quite similar to SPI's. What's the point? Unless you can offer something new to the field?

Well hi Kirsty what can I say is there a reason for using Sheffield Paranormal, especialy when there's already a group with the same name who is already well established with the local radio and newspapers. I hope you have lots of money and time to invest in your project. I would normaly wecome any new ghost hunting group and offer any help I could but they don't normaly try to use the same name as us.

Please remove your links you have nothing to do with our group, we have a good reputation which I will not allow to be tarnished by you or anyone else, we were quite prepared to help you get started with your group and you repay us by tryng to cash in on our groups name. You are not even a member of our group and I feel that you only joined our forum to gain information, you are definately not to be trusted. i am a member of the Sheffield Paranormal Investigations
and can i just say to anyone reading this they are a very professional and dedicated team not to mention VERY honest and trust worthy.
i have known Brenda & Mick for a long enough time now and class them as very special friends.
they have very high standards on their investigations and have impecible (sp?) ethics... some thing i am sorry to say alot of people who start these sort of groups have not.
it is a sorry state of affairs when someone trying to start a new group has to try and use another groups good name to try and get established, if they had any faith in their own abilities to set up a group surely they would choose a name that noone else has.

and if you ask Brenda she will tell you what I have told her in my Pm's I have sent her, explaining this situation.

I did not intend to "steel" this name from your group. As the names were not exactly the same I did not think it would be relevant as your team is Sheffield Paranormal Investigators and mine WAS called Sheffield Paranormal Group. I did not know that you were registered under Sheffield Paranormal, otherwise I would not have chosen the name!

I think that both parties should apologise to each other. This was obviously a mis-understanding. Im sure that Kirsty could think up another name for her group like "South Yorkshire Paranormal Group" or something?

Hi All

Whats all the fuss about?

So if there are ghosts in Sheffield lets hope these people who want to look for them, find them. I have looked at Kirstys site and I think that shes doing a great attempt, SPI ok great site, but come on you lot should be working together.

Kirsty change the name of yours, SPI are right, but keep the good work up, and to you lot at SPI, you should be supporting a new interested party.

Oh Im sorry I forgot Sheffield Folk have to be right.....ALL THE TIME

i distinctly remember Brenda & Mick giving Kirsty support and offering help, i dont think they expected her to pinch the name.
my husband and myself have worked hard to build up a reputation for our shop i wouldnt like it if we helped someone get in the business just to have them open up down the road calling them Body Runes. i wouldnt dream of doing it to someone else either.

Yes Brenda did Pm me and give me advice on making a decent Paranormal site. I also sent her the link to my site so that she could give me some pointers on how to improve etc..

I am NOT happy about being accused to stealing the name of the site as I was not aware that SPI were registered under the name of Sheffield Paranormal. I thought the group were called Sheffield Paranormal INVESTIGATORS, therefore I did not think it would be wrong to call my group Sheffield Paranormal GROUP.

Like I have previously said, this has been sorted with Brenda now and I have explained the situation. I am in the process of creating another website.

31-03-2005, 14:48

I can understand how others felt. I have explained how it was a genuine mistake and I am now in the process of creating a new website under a different name. Trust me, I would not waste my time creating a website under the same name of someone elses just for the sake of arguements! I have better things to do. It was a mistake, and im glad it is sorted out now.

I don't know what the fuss is about. It's not even the same name.

There seem to be a few groups that start with Sheffield Paranormal....or Yorkshire Paranormal.

For example -

Sheffield Paranormal Research Team
http://paranormal.meetup.com/292/

Sheffield Paranormal Investigators (who seem to be kicking up a fuss)

Sheffield Paranormal Research Group (SPRG)
E-mail: sheffghost@hotmail.com

Sheffield Paranormal Group (Kirsty's site)

These are just a few I found through a quick search in google. Just cos Kirsty chose a name that's similar, there's no need to come down like a ton of bricks. It ain't the same name, and it was clearly not "stolen" as some people claim.

mr_dreadfull

Actually it's more like two hours and a detailed history tour of the area, so it's not that bad compared to a pint that lasts a lot shorter.

Plus it's a chance for people to get out and see exactly what's out there for themselves and it's a way into the paranormal for people who feel a little intimidated by the whole thing. We all know how popular the Most Haunted thing has been on tv even though I don't watch it. :)

The prices were arrived at after doing market research for a couple of months. Come and see for yourself, the offer is open to everyone after all.

This might seem a touch like stating the obvious, but why does there seem to be so many people starting thier own paranormal investigations group?
Wouldn't it be better for people to join together? or am I missing something here?

In-fighting, mate. Generally, they all detest each other. You never get this with the knitting groups. Nor with my leather fetish groups.

...And the arsonists' groups get on like a house on fire.
