can anyone lend me a windows vista home basic recovery disc

Don't you have a recovery partition on your PC?

i dont know its my laptop some tw@t has put the upgrade disc in and now after 28 days my windows have gone missing so i was told i need a recovery disc

Recovery disk will be specific to your laptop. So you need one from the manufacturer of your laptop.

I though most PC manufacturers didn't supply recovery disk now.
You usually have to make your own or recover from boot up, normally by pressing F11

somebody upgraded to Vista ?

and they didn't ask you first ?
