A promising start to the cricket season for Yorkshire. I am hopeful that they win something this year. The batting line up is strong - although a couple of early dismissals can often leave it to the middle order and the tail to steady the ship. Quite a few of the bowlers (eg Rashid, Bresnan) have almost reached all-rounder status and it is this ability to bat right down the order that I think, will make them a hard team to beat.Quick, medium or spin, their is bowling talent a plenty. The fielding looks sharp - so here's to a good season - like a few we had in the 50's.

I think I spoke too soon.

Far too early to write it off, but it does seem that there's even more investment in the youth development. A dreadful shame about Merkel being injured, but I still feel there's enough talent about to mout a steady challenge in the County Championship.

I'm quite excited about Rashid; he looks an excellent County player, at the very least.

Rashid and Bresnan putting on 85 is good but they shouldn't have to be relied upon so much. Even Kruis was in control. Perhaps they should turn the batting order upside down.
