Just had a call from someone who said they were from Paypal and were calling regarding a suspicious transaction which they assumed to be Unauthorised....
I called Paypal to check and it was a legitimate call from them...there has been $1200 taken from my account BUT immediately reversed by Paypal...
She suggested I might have a key logger installed!!!!!!!!!!
What do I do...I'm currently running a Norton FULL system scan...Will this do what is required, or do I need to do more?
Thanks.
You must change your Paypal password (and I'd recommend any other passwords you use, especially internet banking) as soon as possible, and preferably on a different computer - if yours has been compromised, changing them from there won't stop people from getting in.
You haven't clicked on a link supposedly from Paypal in an email have you recently, demanding that you urgently 'verify' your account details?

NO...I never do that despite getting mails requesting I do so.
I have run Norton and it found nothing...do I need to run any other programmes to find out if I have a key logger!
Have now changed my passwords on another computer...Am I now safe to log on to my accounts on my PC?

Try on (or two) of the online scans:
Trend (http://uk.trendmicro-europe.com/consumer/housecall/housecall_launch.php)
BitDefender (http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html)
Panda (http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/ActiveScan.htm)
Kaspersky (http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner)
I refuse to comment on your current AV choice;)
Norton blows, use AVG or some other better antivirus app.

You will want to change pritty much any password that has access to your bacnks and email accounts (no good just changeing you bank password if they have enough info to do a password forget form and use your email to set a new password)
I would personaly go out and but Kasoersky Internet Security (no I don't work for them this is not a advertisment) but if the idea of paying for it does not apeal to you then go to www[dot]avast[dot]com/
Download there Home edition, once installed it will ask you if you want to do a boot time scan. Agree to this and let you pc reboot (The boottime scan will have a higer chance of picking up anything that should not be). Hopefully from these few steps you should be on your way to being more secure. Hope it helps.
