When i use a search engine .... or open web pages, the whole document is too small to read, how do i make it bigger? .... i know its something to do with pressing a button whilst turning my mouse wheel ... or something like that

If using IE7 you can amend the default text size - not all web sites allow you to override what they set though [SF is one which IMHO is bad design :( ].
Click the Page button, Text Size, and choose one of the larger settings.

Optionally, you can use Zoom.
Either
click Page button, Zoom, choose your setting
Or
Hold Crtl [control] key and then press the + or - minus key to suit.

Easiest way is to press the ctrl key, followed by the + key (then ctrl and the - key to get the size back down to 'normal' if you want to)
