View Full Version : Cats laying in the litter tray ?

can anyone shed any light on this please

our cat keeps laying in the litter tray although they can and are going to the toilet normaly they seem to want to go and sit or lay in there
Any ideas?:)

Firstly is your cat elderly? My old cat did this when she was ill and i think she did it when i went out because she just felt poorly after we came back she would come out. she was quite old at this point and sadly even after vets help we had to have her pts as the vet said she was in pain.

he is 17 has arthritus

Perhaps it's the litter moulding itself to the shape of his body and supporting him a little? How deep is the litter in the tray? Maybe it feels a little like a beanbag to him.

hi all just like to tell you all he is fine now he had dislocated hips he is loads better now xxxxxxxxx

Ruby likes sitting in hers, she goes in every so often when she's got the face on to have a good old sulk!

She isn't old, ill or arthritic just abit mardy sometimes! hehe!

just think some of you might want to no we lost our little man in oct 08 he had a tumour in his stomach x miss him so much xx

Ah , poor thing. At least he's not in pain now. RIP little man
