Which Charities do you associate with the following Categories:

Elderly Charity =

Childrens Charity =

Disease Charity =

Homeless Charity =

Animal Charity =

I am looking into some market research for a project in this field and would like some feedback.

If you could just fill the blanks for me so I can get an idea of which charities you associate with the above. It would be beneficial, if you could name charities you wouldn't mind giving to if you were asked.

I wont add my own examples as I dont want to bias the results.

I am looking for a lot of response on this, so please whoever looks at this thread; reply with an answer to the above.

The results should be as National Charities if possible

Next question: How many results are enough to justify the findings?

Thanks all! :D

Elderly Charity = Cheshire Homes

Childrens Charity = NSPCC

Disease Charity = MacMillan Nurses

Homeless Charity = Shelter

Animal Charity = RSPCA

I usually give to most charities when asked directly.

I'd say you need a minimum of a thousand responses for anybody to take it seriously.

Good luck and don't come back until you've finished.

Elderly Charity = Help the Aged or Age Concern

Childrens Charity = NSPCC or Child Line

Disease Charity = Cancer Research

Homeless Charity = (That makes me think of the Big Issue but I'm not sure if thats a charity)

Animal Charity = WWF or RSPB

If you wanted to justify your findings you should have asked people to PM you with their thoughts as other peoples answers are just as likely to be as biasing as your own.

Not answering until you include environmental charities

Elderly Charity = Help the Aged, Age Concern (are they the same thing?!?)

Childrens Charity = RSPCC, Childline

Disease Charity = Cancer Research, British Heart Foundation

Homeless Charity = SHELTER

Animal Charity = NSPCA, PDSA

I'm sure I could think of more!

Would I give to them? Well, I never give to people collecting in the streets - I don't like people waving things under my nose asking for money - but I do have monthly direct debits to a number of charities of my choosing instead.

I am more inclined to give to childrens charities. I don't give to homeless charities (for people in the UK) as we have a welfare system that allows grown-ups to help themselves.

I've deliberately not looked at other poster's suggestions! So here goes.....

Elderly - Alzheimers Association, Help the Aged
Childrens - Sheffield Children's Hospital, Childline, Comic Relief, Bluebell Wood Appeal, Nordoff Robbins appeal
Disease - I imagine you could pick a disease and there'd be one for it if you hunted hard enough. Cancer Research.
Homeless - NOMAD, SHELTER. Big Issue....
Animal - WWF, PDSA,
